~A/N: To the few of you (the very very wonderful few) who are reading this, I am so sorry it took me over a week to update, my new laptop is creating a lot of problems for me! Enjoy xx

With Exam’s fast approaching, and everyone recovering from their injuries there is a lot going on. Teachers begin pushing more and more assignments on the students in an attempt to better prepare them. The pressure slowly builds on each of them, weighing them all down in a different way. Brooke and Ruby drag Ty and Stan to the Library almost every night to try and study, but the boys can never seem to focus.

One afternoon, Ty won’t stop checking his phone until Ruby snatches it off him claiming “your lover can wait for an hour or two. Focus.”

Stan scoffs and hides behind his books as Ty glares at him. In the past two weeks, Ty and Jasper have had hardly any time together. Even though they are constantly texting and calling each other every other night, Ty is missing his company. While Ty’s tutors have him and Stan running their minds dry, Jasper is focused for his own reasons, but Ty has no idea that those reasons are more than a desire to do well.

Jasper turns his phone off at about 5 o’clock. He has been checking for a reply between every other word as he writes another practice analysis for his Lit class. He really needs to focus. His mother and father have been taking every opportunity to bring up his future, and each time they do they talk about how proud they are of him, and how they only want to best for him and how he can do anything he wants and go anywhere he wants. What Jasper really wants is for them to understand he doesn’t want them paying his way though. He knows he will need their help, but he doesn’t want them to do everything. He needs to learn how to provide for himself, and how to make reasonable financial decisions and to learn to understand limitations. He is hoping that he will get the marks he needs to get into whatever course he chooses, and that he can get a job to pay part of his own way – but he hasn’t really told his parents this.

Even without his phone on as a distraction, his mind is still elsewhere. Jasper keeps thinking back to Ty, to the night in his room where they just sat and talked and were completely absorbed in each ther. Every night since, he has wanted to go back. He wouldn’t do anything differently, but he wishes it had lasted longer. Even with half of their classes together Jasper still finds himself missing Ty, in the classes where they sit side by side, they are both focused on what they are doing (well, Jasper is, and Ty sits back as silent as ever) it had taken Jasper a few days to realise that even if Ty’s feelings have changed, his appearance is not about to. He’ll be finishing up at the school the same way he started at it, and he has a bit of ground to make up. Jasper knows that he has been studying hard outside of school, and he doesn’t want to distract him, so he hasn’t suggested they do anything, but he wants to see him, to feel him – just the two of them.

Jasper looks from the half-written paper to the inactive phone on the corner of his desk, then back at his paper, and then at the oversized decorative clock on his wall. He has been trying to write this paper for two hours and if he hasn’t finished it by now he isn’t going to tonight. With a resigned sigh, he drops his pen on the miserable attempt and collects himself a little better before grabbing the phone and heading downstairs.  His mother is in the dining room, some papers spread out in front of her and her glasses almost falling off the edge of her nose. His father is at work, he left half an hour ago for the night shift at the hospital.

Having a doctor and a lawyer for parents is both a wonderful and terrible thing. Jasper doesn’t see much of his parents, but they always manage to be there for him. His father get’s a little overprotective at times and is all about being a responsible adult, and his mother is always thinking about the future rather than right now – but Jasper see’s they are trying, and he knows that they care. They love and trust him, and that is the most important thing.
