I know I was being foolish when I told him I loved him. I mean who was I kidding he was never going to say it back. Never in the walls of High School. Never to me.
"I love you"I tell him once more. He turns to face me.
"Don't be Foolish. We dont love in high school." he pats my head before walking away.
I was left there heartbroken not knowing how to react. What about all the other things we've done. I now know he never meant anything he said. I now know he never meant anything he's done.
Thats the beauty of High School you never know whats going on until it gets to you.
"Mama I told him I loved him."My moms hands were over mine as she looked into my eye.
"Don't be foolish baby, you don't love in High School."She rubs my hands but I pull them away. I don't react again as I see my dad walk in. What is wrong with them. What is wrong with me.
As the days go on Adrian acts like he never said any of that. Like we never lived that moment. We walk down the halls and see happy couples holding hands and looking like foolish lovers. No like actual lovers and the geeks. . .they looked like they loved their books.
Was my relationship broken or was my world broken. I looked at Adrian and he looked at me. Smiling he grabs my hand and we sit at our usual desk. Putting my head on the desk I dose off.
"I love you"I say. Adrian turns to look at me shocked.
"Don't be Foolish we do-" I stop him right there.
"Do love at High school."His brows furrow.
"No, not with you" I wanted to cry. I felt like there was no point in living.
"MITCHELLE" I bolt up as I see the teacher pointing a ruler at me. I look around the class and see every one looking at me.
"See class a perfect example of a day dreamer it gets in the way of their education and soon they'll be 30 and finally graduating." everyone bursts into a fit of laughter as I shy away.
I see Adrian as he laughs along with them. I was shocked but it was my fault.
A month goes by and I gave gotten used to being Foolish. Adrian was dragging me to the middle of the school before letting my hand go. He told me to turn around and I did. I was shocked to find people gathered around.
Their eyes lit up the moment he said.'turn around'. I do and nearly choke. He was on one knee holding a ring
"Mitchelle will marry me because....I love you." I gather up all my courage before responding.
"Don't be Foolish we dont love in High school. Especially, if its with you."I finish my sentence by patting him on the head
