Harry POV:

I absolutely detest my job.

I mean, I love working with my friends everyday, and I know I said I wanted to be an Auror, but it turns out it's not as fun as I first thought it was. First off, when I'm out in the field fighting or even just negotiating I get random panic attacks. I freeze, memories showing themselves in some sort of hallucination. I'm forced to relive when my friends and classmates die, green light flashing and high pitched screams ringing in my ears.

Scary.

Second, I was never particularly good at social interaction, so whoever was with me ended up doing the talking and I simply stood and nodded. It gets boring.

Third, nine times out of ten I'm sitting at my mahogany desk, filling out reports from other Aurors' adventures. I tried to keep it fun by spinning in my chair every once in a while, but it got boring really quickly. You'd think I would enjoy a bit of boring after a life of excitement, but in reality I miss going on dangerous adventures with Hermione and Ron. I was so proud when Hermione was made Minister of Magic. She definitely earned the position. I was pretty proud of Ron too, he had become my second in command. I myself am head Auror, which is why I have so much paperwork.

Fourth and finally, I think I have had enough action for at least two lives. I want to make time for Ginny and Albus, instead of coming home late and going straight to bed just to get up early and leave again. Maybe I should look for a more settled job. Yeah, that's what I'll do.

I scoot back my chair and open the filing cabinet. I look through the tabs....a, b, c,.....ah here it is. R for resignation papers. I opened the vanilla folder and took out one of the crisp papers that were inside. I set it on my desk and began to write.
---------------------------------------------------------
30 minutes later, I signed my name at the bottom, to make the document official. Wow. I'm really doing this. I exhaled. OK. Here we go.

I tried to steady my nerves. This was so exciting! I wonder what job I'm going to get later?

I was just about to leave the room when I was blown back against the wall by a blast. I hit my head hard, and I was fading in and out of consciousness. Before I completely lost touch with reality, I saw a figure standing by the door. They were shadowed, save for the pale hands holding the handle of a wand that shimmered gold. Then I was out.

Hey! Sorry for the hiatus, I was stuck as to what to write haha. OK then. --DP

BTW, the chapters are probably going to be short for the whole thing.
