After the big rain storm Steven asked Lilly if he could live in her room. Lilly said yes. But Steven wanted to say goodbye to his family. Lilly offered to take Steven back to the birch tree. "No, no. I just need to say goodbye and get a web kit." Steven left out the reason why he didn't want Lilly to go. Steven wanted to tell everyone in Birch Tree, which is the name of his community, about the ring.
Mrs.Webington was standing at the entrance to their home. She was anxiously looking around for Steven. Mrs.Webington had come home the night before and instantly she heard about how Steven had gone missing during the rain storm. She was looking for he child. Mrs.Webington saw a spider coming toward her and she knew it was Steven. "Steven Webington! You've had us worried sick! Where have you been? Are you hurt? Are you sick?" Mrs.Webington cried. "Mother I am fine. A few days ago I met a human named Lilly Ann Gardener. She knew that the storm could hurt me so she brought me to her home." Steven explained. Mrs.Webington brought Steven into the Fly Hall where everyone was eating flies. The Fly Hall had a big long table in the middle. A kitchen on the right was filled with spider cooks. And on the left wall was a large picture of the founder of Birch Tree.
"Attention everyone of Birch Tree!" Steven's mother yelled. "Steven is OK. He met a human who knew of the upcoming rain storm and this human saved him." Everyone cheered with joy. Steven's friend came over. "Hi Steven glad you're OK I sure was worried about ya!" said Steven's best friend Spencer Silk. "Hi Spencer. I missed you. Hey where is Sophie?" Steven replied. Sophie Silk was Spencer's younger sister and Steven's friend. "In the apartment." answered Spencer. Steven and Spencer crawled to the Silks apartment. "Hi Sophie!" said Steven. Sophie had her back to the door. The spider turned. "Oh! Steven it's great to see you. Where've you been?" Spencer told Sophie what had happened.
"Hi guys." said Steven. "What?" they said together. "That human girl, Lilly had made a bed for me to sleep on. And the bed was next to a really shiny ring." Steven said. "Tell us more." "OK. Well I asked if I could have the ring so I could sell it at Birch Tree and get money but-" "But nothing! Next time you see that Billy person get the ring bring it down here and we can make some money." Spencer said greedily. Steven didn't know what to do. He couldn't say no or Spencer wouldn't be his friend. He couldn't say yes because he couldn't steal from Lilly. He said yes since Lilly didn't need him she had other friends just like Steven had other friends.
But it still felt wrong to do steal from Lilly...
