Phoenre yawns another one as he trudged through the dense forest floor. The sticks and leaves from the vegetation of the nighttime forest stuck into his feathers, annoying and forcing him to remove the small debris off his arms from time to time. He looked around him in search of anything interesting, only to see the dead silence of the woods. Turning around, he continued to walk down the dirt path often used by travelers like him leading out to the forest. His eagle night vision which is not as clear as an owl's but still good enough to allow him see the pitch-black path in front of him, letting him know what to avoid and remove obstacles in his way.
"Man, is this path really going outside this forest?" He impatiently thought of as he has been walking throughout the forest since daytime. He then noticed a faint glimmer of light in front of him far away on the narrow rough soil road. Noticing this glint of hope possibly leading out of the dark woods, he sped up his walking to reach the light faster. He nearly tripped on many rocks on the way but he stepped away from them. He finally made it to the destination he saw and was greeted by the most beautiful sight this night has ever offered to him.
A clear sky with a large full moon above him, which he never saw thanks to the thick canopy the forest have, lit up a dark green meadow before him, with waist-high grasses and fireflies flying around, glowing with their green bioluminescence and hovering for their mates and others. "Wow" The brown eagle thought while he was amazed by the beautiful sight out of the forest. He looked back and saw the dark forest before turning around, comparing the contrasting biomes which only stood next to each other. Blinking his eyes to moisten his drying eyes from staring in this beauty of nature too much, he stared far into the horizon and saw an endless sea of grass and gloeing insect before stopping into a faintly orange glow in the distance. "There! The village!" He accidentally blurted out loud his thoughts from the excitement of getting rest and food. The avian reflexively covered his mouth to stop him from making anymore noise as he is afraid of attracting unwanted attention. He took a deep breath and started walking through the moonlit meadow towards the village, with the beauty of the moon, the grassy plains and the nocturnal insects along with the thought of having food and rest keeping him alive and awake for the long journey ahead of him.
