Chapter One ; Well, aren't you full of surprises.

  I swiped my metro card to get on the bus, I looked around and didn't see a lot of people so I went and sat in the back in the corner seat near the window. As I sat down I examined my surroundings, there was a boy and girl sitting in the two diagonal from me. They looked about my age, probably seventeen, eighteen and they were discussing something really loudly.

"Did you hear that the owner of the underground Liam is going out with Megan." the girl said her brown hair loosen from her  ponytail as she bounced animatedly in her seat. The boy who was clearly annoyed with the topic of choice, telling by the expression on his face and to key in a major factor he definitely did not seem like the type of guy to care about the type of stuff she was mentioning. Like I personally would not be surprised if he did not even know who she was talking about. Even though his lack of interest in the current topic was clearly apparent she continued on talking.

"Like I was so shocked when I heard I really can't believe it happened finally." she babbled on.

"I don't really care what the elites assholes do, they're just a bunch of spoiled rich kids that are forever going to live off their mom and dad's bank account." The guy said back, making my suspicions correct. He shoved back in his headphones and pulled his phone out of his pocket and ignored the girl.

"Whatever" the girl said as she rolled her eyes. "I can't talk to you about anything"

   she turned from facing him and looked directly at me. I averted my gaze, I didn't want her to think I was being noisy which is what I was being. I looked out the window; it was getting close to my stop. I looked back in front of me and I saw that the girl was still staring at me.?Out of nowhere, she gets up and sits in the seat next to me.

"Hey," she said as she smiled really wide with full teeth and everything. "I couldn't help but notice you found our conversation interesting. Do you know what the underground is and who the elites are?"

I returned her smile trying to remain polite.

"Yeah" I hesitated "I do but I don't really know much." I said back with hopes that the don't really know much part would stop the conversation, the universe was punishing me for being nosy.

Her smiled dropped "oh, okay but you strike me as the type of girl to know them". She must've saw the confused face I made because she began to speak again.

  "Its nothing bad but you seem like regular girl who keeps up with world drama you know". I just nodded understanding her statement her regular girl comment hitting a little to close to home. I guess I would come across as just a regular girl nothing was really special about me. I looked out the window and saw that my stop was next. I pressed the red stop button that was on the yellow pole to the right of me, hearing the ding that indicated that my requested stop was received.

"I'm Mia" she said with that same wide smile "and that guy is my brother Logan" she said pointing to the guy bobbing his head up and down to music.

"I'm Kyla" I said as the bus was stoping "and this my stop." I quickly got up from my seat and went to the door waiting for the bus to fully stop and as soon it stopped. I zoomed off the bus but not without hearing her say bye.

That was weird .

This is not the type of city to talk to strangers.

I started heading towards my school, my school was a big grey dull building and the inside wasn't any better. I just thank the universe this is my last year in this dreadful school. I pulled the door open and walked in. I walked past the lobby into the hallway where all the lockers are. I started headed towards my locker I saw my best friend Alexis opening her locker, coincidentally right next to mine. She claims 'we got lucky', but i'm pretty she bribed someone to get that locker I came up right next to her.

"Howdy partner" I said in a country accent and pretended to tip my imaginary hat.

She turned her head towards me and tipped her imaginary hat back. "Well hello there little lady". She says imitated the country accent I just used. "Fine weather having today ain't it" She says while she picks up her umbrella and shakes it towards me causing water droplets come fly my way.

"Fine weather indeed" I said busting out laughing, while trying to dodge the water flying my way. We finally stop goofing and turn to my locker and put in combination and pull it open. "But anyway girl anything new happen" she said says to me while i rummage in my locker. We asks each other this question every single day and the biggest answers were probably. 'i got a kitten' and 'i ate a whole box of pizza last night, by myself'. Both answers are pretty exciting but kinda boring considering we live in the big city and we definitely should be doing more exciting stuff.

"Nothing much , but some girl started talking to on the bus about the elites" I say shaking my head "she was weird".

"For real" Alexis chuckled " what did you say to her"

"I just told that I didn't know much about it and that's the truth" I said, Alexis rolled her eyes and shook her head. Alexis is a hard core fan girl for the elites. Especially Liam the leader and owner of the club, he's only like 25. Which I do not anything about club owners but that seems really young to own a club. The Underground is a name of a club. People started calling them the elites because they're all rich and powerful. The elites are a group of ten people. All I know is someone is someone's cousin, sister, brother, best friend and probably even father basically all the relations but that's not of my business. They're a very complicated group. They come from very rich families, but that's basically all I know about them.

"Ky, you okay in there. You zoned out and the bell just rung" Alexis said while waving a hand in my face. I nodded to show that I was okay and when started headed towards our first period class. I had social studies first , it was okay class just boring, and we'll just watch a video or something. I reached the class and saw the teacher setting up a video. As I suspected, I took and seat in the back, put my hood on and put my head down. I just knew this day was going to be long.

The day dragged on, going by slowly and uneventful and finally it was lunch. I met Alexis by my locker and we walked to the cafeteria. We found our table, and Alexis got up to go get lunch.

"You're not getting lunch today" she asked.

I shook my head. "Are you?" i question as i looked at someones tray when they passed by and it did not look good . Alexis must of saw too because her face twisted up in disgust.

"Nope, lets just get some pizza after school" I nodded agreeing.

"Sounds good" I said as I got up from my seat "but in the meanwhile do you want something from the ending machine."

The day finally ended and I met Alexis by the front door and we both headed towards her car it was still raining at outside but this time harder then before. We both got in the car and decided we did not want to go back in that rain unless it was going inside her house and that we should order the pizza. "You should sleep over tonight, I have a idea" she says while pulling up to her house. I shake my head.

"No,No,No,and No, your ideas are the single most terrible thing are this planet." She pouts at me.

"Please" she begs "I promise this one will be good." I stare at her for long time trying to see if i can figure out whats she's up too but then I decide give in maybe it won't be so bad this time.

"Okay fine, but can you you at least tell me this idea of yours" I say as we open the door to the car and race toward her porch to get out the rain. When we make she pulls out her keys and unlocks her screen and front door, she finally gets her doors. "Hello I asked a question" I say annoyed as we enter her very warm and cozy home.

All she does turn and smirk at me and says "Its a surprise."
