Chapter 1
Life is a bitch.
One day, your biggest problems can be homework, guys, and not getting grounded for sneaking out of the house in the middle of the night.
The next day?
Your problems mean absolutely nothing anymore. Now your problems consist of staying alive and escaping death in any way manageable. Any mistake you make can and will mean certain death. But with a phycopath on the loose the chances of escaping are practically zero to none.
But I'm getting ahead of myself here. It would be a lot easier to understand this if I started from the beginning. So without further ado, I welcome you to my personal hell.
My name is Aria Keller and this is my story.

"Local police officers report that a man identified as Dean Lennon has escaped from prison last night at the time of eleven thirty-two p.m. He has been classified as dangerous and local authorities advice you to not go out past curfew and travel with three or more people. If seen please call Metro right away" the anchor woman droned on, a picture of a guy about twenty years old flashing on the screen.
I rolled my eyes. Nothing bad ever happens here. Its been years since someone had been murdered and even longer since we had a major car accident. The people here in Knightly were all scared of their own shadows. No one would dare hurt a fly.
"I'm serious Aria, I don't want you out past 10 o'clock, do you understand?" my mother said looking at me pointedly.
"Oh please mom, we all know nothings going to happen. For all we know he could already be on his merry way to Mexico" I scoffed.
"I'm not kidding young lady, you know I worry about you. I can't lose you or your brother after.. after.." she began stuttering, her eyes filling with tears. "I'm sorry mom, don't worry I won't go out after ten" I sighed guiltily bringing her into a hug.
After my dad died two years ago we've all gotten more protective over each other and my mom took his death the hardest.
"I miss him so much" my mom cried into my shoulder. "I know mom, I miss him too" I said, a few tears escaping my own eyes.
"Hey what's for brea- oh.. I'll just wait over here.." my older brother Xavier said backing away from the kitchen slowly. I rolled my eyes at him and smirked wiping away the tears as my mother went to go get started on breakfast.
My brother looked so much like our father you would think they were brothers. While Xavier had gotten his bright blue eyes and black hair, I had gotten my mother's duller eye color, making my eyes grey. But we had all shared the midnight black hair and Xavier always got alot of attention from the female population.
"So Aria, mind telling me who I saw you with after school yesterday?" Xavier said wiggling his eyebrows at me.
"You know exactly who that is X, it's my best friend. And no, I'm not setting you up with her you, you man whore" I said forgetting my mother was in the room. Oops.
"Aria!" my mom gasped, a look of shock taking over her face. I put my hands up in surrender before she could start yelling and ran upstairs, Xavier's laughter filling the house. I grabbed a pair of skinny jeans and a simple blue t-shirt before jumping into the shower.
