"Wake up, slut, it's time for school." Ah, the beautiful words of Amber waking me up again.
"What time is it," I asked, sitting up and stretching. I had fallen asleep at my desk, intrigued in a story I had been writing.
"Time for you to get ready. You know, you've fallen asleep at your desk so much that I think your bed is feeling very neglected."
"I think my bed is just for decoration now. I've neglected that thing for several years," I told her, as I started brushing my hair. "Will you choose an outfit for me?"
Amber walked to my closet and said, "You, know, it's terrible for your posture to sleep like that every night."
"I guess you're just going to have to buy me a corset to fix my posture then," I chuckled, and walked to the bathroom to brush my teeth.
When I came back to the room, Amber threw an outfit at me. "Just get dressed. Your boyfriend is waiting for you outside the school already.
"He's not my boyfriend!" I shouted at her as she walked out of my room and shut my door. She was talking about Gary Stewart, of course. Ever since the first day of school, he made it very clear that he liked me. Gary was sweet, kind, and very smart. Your typical nerd. He liked chemistry a lot and played Dungeons and Dragons with his friends. I had even gone to his house a couple of times when he invited me to watch them play it. I could tell they had fun with it, but it wasn't really my thing.
Because Amber likes to mess with me, she had chosen an outfit that looked like one a total nerd would wear. I decided to go full out and put my hair in pigtails. She laughed when she saw me.
"And Emma's true colors are finally showing!" She shouted, amused by my look.
"Just shut up and get in the car," I laughed.

At the school, Gary Stewart was indeed waiting for me outside. Amber made a comment about him being my future husband and we walked up to him.
"Hey, Emma! Are you going to the science fair on Friday?" He asked, excitedly. He was always jumpy and nervously excited around me.
"Sorry, Gary. Emma has a Satanic Ritual to attend with the goths this Friday," said Amber, making Gary even more nervous. He usually gets more nervous when Amber speaks to him, which is very rare.
All of the cliques at the school tend to stay away from each other and rarely ever speak to each other. People switch cliques all the time, and some smaller groups even merge into one, but no one is ever in two cliques at the same time. I was a very rare exception, though. I'm like my own clique where I just get along with all of the different groups of people at the school. I'm treated as a friend in each clique and a messenger between cliques. I keep the peace at the school, and I think the teachers have noticed it too. Amber said there used to be fights every day between different cliques, but ever since I came along, it's been very peaceful.
It's not a Satanic Ritual, Amber," I rolled my eyes at her and turned back to Gary. "I'm sorry, Gary, I already promised the Goths I would go to the art show with them. But I will definitely try to stop by if I have time, okay?" I told him. He nodded, and offered to carry my books like he usually does.
I got to my first period and immediately noticed something different. Everyone was quiet and kept glancing to a back corner of the room. Melissa Barry, a member of the athletes clique, saw me come in and ran over to me.
"Thank God you're here, Emma. There's a new guy and we can't figure out which clique he belongs to. He won't talk to any of us." Melissa Barry was always wearing shorts that showed off her long legs, and almost never stopped moving. as she was telling me about the new guy, she kept putting her hair up in a ponytail, taking it out, then putting it back up again. She does this every time she's nervous.
