Don't be like that, don't be like this. It seemed as if his parents wanted Ezra to be a completely different person. For him to be 'normal' like everyone else. Like his brother who'd gone off to college, who Ezra had hoped his parents would stop comparing them once he left, but they just didn't seem to let up. He'd always been different and his parents just needed to accept that.
"Why can't you just accept the choices I make? I'm 16 for Christ's sake! That's-" Ezra's argument was by his dad who started yelling about how he was still underage and how getting something like a tattoo was a big decision. Wait until they found out he'd been planning on getting piercing, too... but they wouldn't.
See, Ezra was sort of an emotional person. He always cried when he got angry. But he wouldn't be able to stand himself if he cried in front of his parents. So he shoved past his parents and made his way up the stairs. He couldn't hear them yelling after him, so it seemed like they would leave him alone at least for the night. Which was good. Because Ezra didn't think he could stay any longer in that house.
Now, some may be thinking about how he had a privileged life and he had no reason to leave if he was just being some emotional, irrational teenager, but that wasn't even the half of it. As some have probably already been told, Ezra was constantly being compared to his older brother. His brother, Matthew, was always a good kid and Ezra could tell they favored Matthew over himself. So he'd always acted out to get some sort of attention.
It hurt, if he was being honest, to know that he'd never be good enough. If he wasn't up to Matthew's standards, he wasn't worth their attention and affection. But he wouldn't tell them what he really thought. They were his parents and were supposed to know better; but they didn't and Ezra didn't think he could change anything now.
Ezra had a plan, though. He was going to live with his boyfriend instead of being stuck here. But his parents obviously wouldn't approve, so he'd have to sneak out. Ezra would do it that night in fact.
So, he drew in a deep breath after locking his room door and dried whatever tears he had with the sleeve of his hoodie. Grabbing a duffel bag from inside of his closet, he stuffed some of his clothes inside, grabbed his saved money from underneath his bed, then left the bag on his bed so he could grab his toothbrush and other necessities from in there.
Ezra was nervous and afraid. He didn't know what he was going to do. He didn't want to leave, but he couldn't stay either. "Calm the hell down... just breathe." Ezra had to remind himself over and over. Once he felt calm, he took a seat on his bed and contemplated what he should do. He managed to convince himself that leaving would be best. His parents wouldn't have to deal with him anymore and he could do whatever he wanted. So even with the tears in his eyes, he grabbed his bag and made sure he had everything before going to the window near his desk and opening it.
Ezra took a glance behind himself and sighed before going back to grab his phone, charger, and headphones. All necessities. Then he went back to the window and climbed out before shutting it. He secured the bag onto his back before he slid down the roof. Ezra carefully dropped down and wiped his hands off on his jacket before he turned away from his home and walked off in the direction of his boyfriend's.

It took Ezra a while to get to his boyfriend's home. He chose to walk slow so he could have some time to himself and his thoughts. It was a little less than a mile, so it did give Ezra some time. After arriving, he knocked twice on the door. As expected Will, Ezra's boyfriend, opened the door. He smiled that gorgeous smile of his before sweeping Ezra into a tight hug. It was as if Ezra had flipped his mood because he found himself smiling wide.
Ezra was brought inside and set down on the couch. "Hey, you. Thought you were coming over tomorrow."
"Oh, uh... yeah. I just missed you. I hope you don't mind." Ezra tucked his hands into his lap after Will smiled again.
"You know I never mind when you come over." Will replied. "Let me guess." Will sat down beside Ezra and slid an arm around his shoulders. "You were in an argument. Again."
A sigh followed the statement, so Will took that as a yes. "Is it alright if I spend a few nights here? I... I really don't want to go back there." Ezra sank into Will's side, as if seeking comfort.
"Of course. In fact, why don't you try staying here for a while?" Will's parents were never home. His mom was occasionally, but she knew about their relationship and she saw how they were together. She accepted Ezra, too.
"Really?" Ezra couldn't hide his surprise. He had been afraid to ask.
"Yeah, really. We can share my room." Will pecked Ezra's temple and gave him a small squeeze. ".... I'm sorry about your mom and dad. If you ever need to talk about it or vent or anything, don't be afraid to tell me, alright?"
Ezra felt like he was going to melt. "Okay." He nodded before quickly adding. "Don't be afraid to do the same. A relationship is supposed to be a two-way street."
Will only smiled again before pulling Ezra up for a kiss. Ezra didn't think he could like, love, anyone more than he loved Will at that moment. He felt as if Will was the only person he could trust. And he was happy to just be there in his arms, even if moments like these didn't seem to last very long.
{Whaddup, I was in the mood for a lil angst and some gay, so I wrote this. It's like 11 something and I'm already tired, so none of this might not make any sense. I liked writing it though. I just wish Wattpad was more popular like it was in 2014 so I could actually get some views on stories. Anyway, enjoy and I love you, have a good night/day/evening}
{ PS, Miles Heizer is sort of?? what I have as a reference for Ezra. Don't have anything for Will yet, sorry. Love you again}

FantasyAh, teenage rebellion. There's nothing like it. It usually starts with an argument over something simple, like a tattoo or a new boyfriend. For Ezra, it was both. First the boyfriend, then the tattoo; this boyfriend influenced him to get it, too. Hi...
