On our way to Melbourne, mum had told us countless stories about the family Andrea and I were soon to meet.

When the plane landed, I turned on my phone to see that I had numerous texts and missed calls, all from Izzy.

‘Miss you already, text me when you land so I know your safe x –Izzy’

I smiled at the text and then continued to read a few more.

‘Ring me, it’s important –Izzy’

‘OK, so it’s not actually important, but it’s exciting –Izzy’

‘Actually, don’t call or text me, it’s a surprise, I love you, be safe xx –Izzy’

Those were only four of the numerous texts, but the rest were much the same. I was going to call her back, but mum had already collected our stuff and was already ushering us outside to where the taxis were waiting. Mum waved one of the taxi's over, and we started piling our few suitcases into the back of the car.

It was an hour and a half drive to our new home in Melbourne, and I had found the time to text Izzy back to say that I had arrived safely, although I hadn’t heard back from her.

We pulled up outside of our new home. It was just the one story with grey bricks and large columns holding up the front roof which was over hanging, allowing a front porch. It had large black double doors with black framed windows.

All in all, it was actually quite beautiful. I turned my head to look at the only house beside us, to see that it was a huge two story home, made from gyprock that was painted black. It was very modern and VERY nice.

Mum walked up to the front of our house, and put down her things in order to unlock the door. Everything had already been sent down here, so all of our stuff was in boxes waiting to be unpacked.

“OK girls, Haley your room is down the back on the right opposite the bedroom, and Andrea you’re on the left baby.” I nodded my head and passed the fancy looking kitchen.

I walked into my new room; it was a decent size with plain white walls. But I didn’t mind, it was actually pretty cozy.

I took off my carry on bag and lay down onto the soft carpet, this house was defiantly recently built.

“Haley, Andrea! Come on, we’re all going next door to see the family!” Mum called.

I stood up off of the ground, brushing my wrinkled shirt down. It was just a plane loose shirt that hung over my ripped black skinny jeans. To complete the outfit I was wearing buckle up boots that reached to my shin.

Not to fancy, but not daggy.

I made my way outside to where my mum was waiting for me with Andrea.

I greeted her outside and then made our way next door to Aunt Kayla’s. We rang the doorbell and patiently waited for someone to answer.

“Hi, what can I do for you? Wait- Heather?!” She squealed gripping mum into a hug.

“What are you doing here? Oh my gosh, Haley! And this must be Andrea!” Kayla gushed forcing us both into a hug.

“Well, you mentioned the house next door and I decided that Queensland has nothing left for us anymore so we have officially moved in next door!” Mum concluded smiling widely.

It was as though Kayla couldn’t comprehend what was going on; she was probably just in shock.

“Kayla? Who’s at the door? Heather?!” A man, probably the same age as my mum sauntered up to the door, curiously peeking over his wife’s shoulder.
