Chapter 7

          We went back into the room and waited for the doctor. When the doctor came in we told him the story and I had to get X-Rays taken. I came back an hour later.
           I laid on Tanner's lap and slowly drifted off. He shook me awake when the doctor came back.
"Well," the doctor began "you have broken your left foot and left leg. Your right arm and three fingers on your right hand, and broken three ribs." I began crying.
Tanner gave me a kiss on the forehead. "You are gonna be fine, I promise." Tanner held my hand and rubbed his thumb across my knuckle.
The doctor came up and gave me a shot to put me to sleep so they could operate on me. "She will be done with the first surgery in an hour." The doctor took me away on a stretcher.
         After the surgery I woke up and noticed I had my arm and hand in a cast. Tanner was sitting next to the bed. He had been holding my good hand. "Babe, I love you. I hope you're doing okay. If you need anything just tell me." Tanner said as he continued to rub his thumb across my knuckle.
           "All I need is you." I felt so weak at that moment, but I wanted to be strong. "I guess we can't cuddle." I jokingly said.
          "I'll cuddle with you anytime." Tanner said, I could feel the warmth from his smile without seeing it.
           "Time for the next surgery." The doctor said.
           "Bye Tanner." I said and blew a kiss as they wheeled the bed away.
After the surgery I went back out to Tanner, I had bandage wrapped around my rib cage and my left foot and leg was in a cast. "Tanner." I weakly said. "I-I-I" I passed out.
I woke up in an unfamiliar place. I could smell bacon cooking. "Tanner?" I asked loudly.
"Hey babe." Tanner began walking to me. "Are you comfortable enough?" He sat at my feet.
"Yes, but can you cuddle with me?" I asked weakly.
"For a little bit, then I have to finish cooking dinner for us and Gunner." Tanner and I cuddled for a bit.
I love my new life, well, for the most part, I thought as I fell asleep in his arms.
         "(Y/N), it's time to eat." Gunner whispered in my ear.
         "Ok!" I got up off the couch and walked to the table very fast. "Thank you!" I yelled to the chef, Tanner.
         "Anytime!" Tanner yelled back. "Also, be careful with how you move, you're supposed to just be laying still.".
          "But that's boring." I jokingly complained.
"Boring, but safe." He said, walking over and giving me a kiss on the forehead. "I don't want anything else bad to happen to you."
We ate the food and then Tanner carried me back to the couch. "Hey (Y/N)" he quietly said. "I want you to stay here for the night." He grabbed my hand and kissed it. "Goodnight my love." He began walking away.
"Goodnight Tan Man." I weakly said, blowing him a kiss.
