America is no longer there
To the ones who can't defend.
To the ones who are scared within. The lights are fading out,
On the streets many shout.
On the rooftops we protest,
On the ground, they lay to rest. The war raging on,
Of skin, color and all.
We speak for ourselves,
The tyrants get no jail. They mock us,
Degrade us.
We still stand tall,
fighting so strong. To the ones that stay.
To the ones that are brave. For the light was never there,
It only shown in the few. Those who stood up for another,
The ones who believe in this fight. No more war and games,
We just want to feel sane.
To defend ourselves,
from our own society. We lack the use of propriety,
So here we shall stay.
In the dull light, that doesn't show,
but in the night. To the ones who wish they were another.
To the ones who are of color.
