He hates hospitals, those white walls that seemed to look like he's in the afterlife makes him nauseous.
Ironically, all of his life, this hospital can be considered as his home. Those white walls are too familiar to him and he's used to those people wearing those white clothes.
Scratching his pale skin, he irritatedly remembered the first time he is being diagnosed inside this place...
"After diagnosing the MRI scans of his brain and spine, and other tests, results say that he had inherited a hereditary disease. It is called familial spastic paraparesis or Strümpell-Lorrain syndrome. Good thing that he already has been checked up or else this disease might worsen. His daily activities will eventually be changed, due to muscle stiffness and will eventually be paralysed in time. However, we can cure it gradually with muscle relaxants and regular physiotherapy. And that's the reason why he now practically lives inside the hospital. His parents occasionally visit him, telling him their daily adventures that made him grim as ever.
He grabbed the lying TV remote on the table beside him, and opened the television. This is what he always do, morning to evening. His only moments to go out is when he had his daily therapy and exercise, which mainly compromises of walking in the hospital's garden.
In terms of academic prowess, it is not a problem for him, as his parents hired a tutor to weekly visit him and teach him things inside his claustrophobic room. And that made him had the desire to see the outside world.
When he reached 16 years old, he finally had the opportunity to be walked to the sidewalk by the sea. Those waves that seemed to calm his mind is what he loved in this scenario. Also the time when the sun sets, it made him too emotional to talk when he sees that orange sun slowly disappears.
As he looked for some interesting channels, the door opened, revealing a man on his 20's, wearing a beige suit that really suits him, his black hair slicked back.
