Chapter 2: Jake

I sat at the table with all my 'friends', I didn't consider them friends I had to hang out with them because they were popular and I was the leader of their group but I thought they were all air heads. The girls were busy talking about designer clothes and the guys were talking about sports and new sneakers. I on the other hand was still in awe of meeting that beautiful girl, Celeste. I tried to remember every little thing about her, the way her beautiful full lips parted when I held her so close to me, the way she smiled and her eyes gleamed with it, the way her chocolate skin gleamed.

I wish I could've stayed with her all night just staring at the stars and holding hands. I wish I hadn't gotten nervous and just kissed her, I usually did that anyways but when I was with her I wanted her to ask me to.

"Hey baby!" My annoying girlfriend, Ashley, came up behind me and attempted to massage my shoulders. I didn't like her at all, my parents made me date her to keep up their image but if I had my choice I'd tell them to go screw themselves and then run after Celeste. Ashley made my life a living hell, she'd call me all the time wondering where I was and who I was with. I never had any privacy, I had to always be there for her and her kisses always left me feeling like a dog just licked my face. I had been thinking about dumping her all night even before I came across the girl of my dreams.

"Hey...Ashley can we talk? Alone?" I asked getting up, all our friends watched as she smiled and gently pressed me back down into my seat. "Anything you need to say can be said in front of the gang." She said and I knew she'd cry if I dumped her in front of the 'gang'. "I can't do this relationship anymore...I'm breaking up with you." I said and she looked at me with confused and pained eyes. Our friends watched with wide, shocked eyes. I rolled my eyes as she started tearing up.

"I'm sorry." I said before getting up, "You're sorry?! I hate you Jake Charson! I can't believe I dated you." She said anger taking over her. "I never liked you Ashley, I dated you to make my parents happy but dating you was like going through hell." I said before moving her aside and leaving. All I heard was snickers from the 'gang' and her sobs.

I felt so free and relieved that I finally dumped her, this time I didn't give a crap about what my parents thought. Right now, I just really wanted to see my close guy friends that I've known all my life. If I could change my life I would be a normal kid, I hated being rich and popular and having fake friends and no one to rely on. I only had three real friends, that count on me and I count on them.

"Hey buds." I said coming up to my best friends, first there was Erik Nighting and he was the funniest kid I knew and the best liar, he got his parents to believe the most crazy stories. Then there was Jaydee but everyone spelled it JD, he was super smart and could be considered a nerd but he was chill, he could hack into so many computers at one time and he can hack games. Lastly, there's Blake the ladies man. His good looks had girls falling for him all the time but he was a jerk. He was a hitter and quitter but he was a great friend.

"Mr. Charson has finally decided to join us." Blake said taking a sip from his cup. His blonde hair was spiked with gel in the front and he wore a nice suit. That's his style, always fancy no matter what. He would never be seen with jeans and a t-shirt on. I haven't seen his hair without gel in it since sixth grade. His blue eyes twinkled with the more he drank from his cup, that was the thing he was always drinking beer at parties and even at home on his free time. "Right...guys I finally broke up with Ashley!" I responded to his comment and the guys cheered and hooted as I told them.

"Finally, I can't believe you put up with her so long for your parents." JD said sighing and combing his fingers through his afro. Jaydee was black and he always sang songs like "I'm black and I'm proud" and he always wore an afro, he's always had an Afro. I can't recall seeing him without it. He always wore hippie clothes too, no matter how many times his parents tried to force him into suits. He had a peace sign tye-die t-shirt on and he wore bell bottom jeans with some random tie-dye colored shoes. it liked his style, I thought it was unique.
