I hate you! Leave my family and I alone. You're no good for us.”

Those were the last words that Bella had heard her so-called mate say, before leaving her in the woods to die and walking—or rather running—out of her life.

For good.

Thirty years later, it still affected her deeply. She had known she was pregnant at the time and was going to tell him, before he spouted off what sounded like a speech he'd made up, one about never loving her and that she was just a distraction and wasn't any good for him any longer.

That night, when she was found she told her father the whole story, and they immediately packed up and moved to Volterra, Italy, much to the surprise of not only Aro, but the rest of the royalty and guards, as well. And after Bella had explained her story and how she was with Edward's child, Aro immediately changed her father on the spot, so that when the time came, he could be the one in helping Aro to change Bella.

And that day came, not even a month later. Bella, with the help of Aro, her father (who had impeccable self-control for a newborn, as Bella would later have), Marcus, Caius, Jane and Alec, Bella gave birth to not only one child, but two—both girls, which she named Abigail Kathleena Voltaire and Teresina Elizabeth Voltaire, who soon were nicknamed Abby and Tess by their family, and had actually been bitten in the process of their birth, leaving them with only being 5% human, instead of half-human/vampire hybrids. But something was forgotten in the process, and Bella was changed.

Within a year, Bella was beginning to show persisting signs of another pregnancy, although she knew it was impossible. And that's when she first met Lucrezia, who was a witch as well as a vampire. Lucy, as Abby and Tess had called her, did a thorough test of Bella, having also been a doctor in her human life. Later, she met with the others.

“It seems that when Bella gave birth to Abby and Tess, someone was forgotten.”

All were shocked at this, even more so that the baby would've survived this long with that amount of venom in them. So Alec, with his power, knocked Bella out as they tore through her hardened stomach, surprised that, indeed, another baby was there. A little precious angel with red eyes who, when Bella awoke, couldn't help but call her Renesmee Carlie Voltaire.

And, as Bella had predicted, Abby and Tess took it upon themselves to take care of her, even though she was supposed to have been their other twin, she was now their baby sister, and Abby and Tess, who looked only four when Renesmee was born, dared anybody to try and mess with her, because they could really put a hurt on any vampire daring to hurt their family.

Which brings us to the present. The girls, who all were typically and fully immortal beings by now, didn't age the right way and, at 29 and 30 years old, they looked 8 and 12 years old, forever being perceived as children, which they really didn't know how to be.

But they would have to learn.

The girls, having not aged at all for fifteen years, were finally given their first assignment by Aro, who was like their second grandfather. The girls, along with their mother, grandfather Charlie, cousins Jane and Alec, as well as their uncles, Felix and Demetri, were all told that a newborn army had been created out of members of a small-town high school, and that they'd have to go there, for probably at least a year, to search and destroy, as well as finding out answers about who created them and why.

Reluctantly, they all agreed, though Bella and her father had begged to change their agreement when they heard where they were going to...

Forks, Washington.

Chapter 1—Denial

When the plane landed in Port, Angeles, Bella breathed a sigh of relief. Having lived on a human-blood diet for the last thirty years, it had been hard being around so many humans and not ready to pounce. The girls were different. Their papaw Aro had stocked their bags with bottles that were labeled V8 but were actually filled with donated blood, which they eagerly and gratefully drink the whole flight over, which had been anything but boring.
