Hunting the alpha

Chapter 4

Katie and me had come back from the woods after finding my way back with an in shock Katie. She wouldn't even walk by herself I had to pull her. Eventually we made it to the clan house. It had gotten quite late so I had to sneak in through the door dragging Katie with me. I made it into the house some of our clan members where still there and my cousins had all sat down with the family.

My parents weren't in sight so I began tiptoeing with Katie through the hallways my cousin Andrew looked up and furrowed his brows. I quickly put my fingers to my lips and slipped past him. I burst through the door katie had shown me earlier.

"Katie what are we going to do!?"

She just sat there and looked up at me with a blank expression.

"Wtf Katie can you answer me?"What are we meant to do your the older one you always have a solution"

"I don't know this time" she said while her breathing sped up.

"I don't think they are lying a lot of human women disappear saying they have joined their mate. What if that's us next?"

"But they could be lying" she said desperately.

"Katie then what was that weird feeling. I felt a pull towards him. It was strange ,  almost like we were attached."

"I felt the same with the other one" she said looking down at her lap.

"We are hunters Katie! I'm the princess for goodness sake and your a high ranked hunter we can't be mated to
wolves"

"What are we going to do.? Tell Our parents" she grumbled.

"No!" I yelled.

We couldn't tell anyone they would for sure start hunting him. I barely knew this boy I didn't even know his name but I felt the need to protect him from my family.

We just looked at each other in silence for a while my mind drifting back to that handsome wolf boy in the woods and hers probably to the boy with her.

"Katie."

"Yes" she said moodily

"What did he mean by m-marking" I stuttered.

"Sh*t did he mark you?" She said suddenly alert

"No. But he said he would if I was with anyone else"

"I can't explain it a wolf has to. let him explain it to you when he meets with you again "

"Wait how do you know I will see him again?"

"My 'mate' said so." She said shrugging.

"I'll see you tomorrow or at school ok I need to go and think" she said and then left my room. I lay down on my bed and shut my eyes it's the first day in America. I was meant to find and hunt my first wolf but instead I met a ridiculously at boy but he just had to be a wolf and he just had to be my 'mate'. I mean I'm trained to literally go out
and hunt his kind and so is Katie what would our parents think of us? My first encounter with one and I couldn't even do anything instead I lowered my bow giving it access to attack me. But he didn't.

No I couldn't start falling for his tricks I needed to step up my game. I got up off the bed and brought down my wolfsbane bullet gun, I admired the gun looking it up and down my parents bought it for me on my 12th birthday. It had my The initials 'K.A' engraved on the side and a few diamonds shimmered on the top of the gun it was a beautiful gun. I roughly tucked it into my bag for School tomorrow, I knew there would be wolves everywhere I couldn't make the same mistake although I hated guns that was Katie's thing I preferred my bow and arrows but I couldn't carry that around School.
