I ducked into a girls bathroom. A smell of cheap perfume hit me and I scrunched up my nose.
It's not that hard. You just have to care about your looks. You're a conventionally attractive person. You just refuse to show it. The squip rambled on as I applied the lipstick. I looked like some trashy Marilyn Monroe knockoff.
Perfect. The squip said, seeming satisfied with his job. I can't believe we spent $20 to make my lips a different color. Now go outside and interact. I can assure you things will be different.
I didn't want to know what different might mean, but I slowly crept out. I was more afraid in what a punishment from the squip might mean!
Let's go get some clothes. The squip said, pointing to a Forever21. I sighed and the squip raised an eyebrow that screamed 'you better follow my command binch.' I began looking through the shirts and ended up grabbing a f/c shirt.
The squip zapped me. "Ow! What the fuck?" I said loudly, earning some annoyed and weirded out looks from other shoppers. We need something new. The squip gestured to a cropped tank top with black and white stripes and a short pair of blue shorts. I could spot Jeremy Heere nearby, talking to Chloe and Brooke all flustered. I laughed and walked to check out. The cashier gave me a weird smile before putting my stuff in a bright yellow bag.
Time skip to the next day
I put on the outfit and rubbed my bare arms, really wishing I had shaved yesterday. Shut up y/n. You look hot. Everyone will be all over you. I cringed at that thought, being the center of attention was more Christine's job. Y/g eyes me suspiciously before they looked away. I frowned at their disgusted look and walked out while muttering a small goodbye.
When I got to school, I felt eyes on me. It was weird, but better than laughing. I opened my locker and felt one next to me slam.
"Heeey" I heard a voice say. Jake Dillinger's voice to be exact. "You new here?" He said in an attempt to be seductive.
"No I'm y/n and I've known you since kindergarten Jake." I said, almost angrily.
Jake flushed for a second but covered it up with a forced smile. "I know, I'm just joking. You look hot though."
Play along.
'Jake Dillinger just called me, y/n l/n, hot!!' Was all I could think. Ew I sound like a blonde popular girl from some 2000s movie.
I smiled through my red lips.
"You're in the play right?" He said, brushing a hand through his blonde hair. I nodded. "See you then babe." He walked away and high fived Rich, who's cute face was dented with an annoyed frown.
