Chapter 12: The Crescent Island

It was early in the morning, it was still dark. When Aang tried to get away with Appa. Mia watched them from out her window, and Katara and Sokka woke up. "I don't want him to go." Katara mumbled. "He must." Mia replied. The three went downstairs and the rest of the villagers that stayed in the house went too.

"Let's go Appa!" Aang yelled when he yanked the reins, "come on boy!"
Aang sighed. "Look, I am sorry, but Katara, Mia and Sokka aren't coming to the Fire Nation with us. If they got hurt, I'd never forgive myself..." Aang said quietly, but within a sec, he got angry. "So get your big butt of the ground and let's go!" He yelled.

"I think his big butt is trying to tell you something." Mia said when she stood with Katara, Sokka and the villagers, watching Aang. "Please don't go, Aang," Katara begged, "the world can't affort to lose you to the fire nation.. Neither can I." Aang frowned and stood up. "But I have to talk to Avatar Roku to find out what my vision means," and he walked up to them, "I need to get go the Fire Temple before the sun sets on the Solstice. That's today." Aang said and he jumped on Appa's head and took the reins.

Sokka, Mia and Katara ran up and stopped in front of Appa. "We're not letting you go into the Fire Nation, Aang." Katara said strict. Aang raised his eyebrows, but soon it got clear for him. "At least not without your friends. We got your back, buddy." Sokka said with a smile.
Mia, Katara and Sokka sat down in the saddle on Appa's back and Mia almost fell over from the sleep. "It's a long journey to the Crescent Island. You'll have to fly fast to have any chance of making it before sundown." The head of the village said and handled Mia over some supplies.

"Thank you so much sir for your-"
"-GO!" The man yelled.
"OKAY!" Mia yelled shocked and Appa rose up. Immediately when Mia laid her head on her hands she fell asleep.
Katara, Aang and Sokka were all up. And they heard some noise under them. "Aang! We have trouble!" Katara yelled when she saw Zuko's ship sailing under them. "And it's gaining fast!" Sokka yelled.
One or other thingy was placed on deck, and it seemed it was a catapult. They shot it off.

"FIRE BALL!" Katara yelled and Aang yanked the rein on the right and Appa could just avoid it.
"We have to get out of Zuko's range before he shoots amother hot stinker at us." Katara yelled to Aang.
"Can't you get Appa a bit more faster?!" Sokka asked panicky.
"Yes... But there's one little problem." Aang said when he pointed to the blockade.

"If we fly north we can go around the Fire Nation ships and avoid the blockade. It's the only way." Aang said.
"There's no time!" Katara replied.
"This is exactly why I didn't want you to come. It's too dangerous!" Aang yelled angrily to Katara.
"That's why we are here!" Katara yelled back.
"Yeah! Let's run that blockade!" Sokka yelled.
"Appa! Yip Yip!" Aang yelled and the huge bison speed it up a little. Suddenly, from the ships of the blockade, they got tens of Fire Balls shot at them. They zigzag'ed through the sky, avoiding them. And Appa's fur was a bit onfire.
"MIA WAKE UP!" Sokka yelled hysterical and he yanked on Mia's shoulder. "MIAAAAAA!!' He yelled. Mia got slowly up and when she rubbed her eyes she saw an orange ball flying over her head. "Sozin's comet?! HOW LONG HAVE I BEEN SLEEPING?!" She yelled panicky and she stood up, but lost balance. Panicky she screamed. "WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON?!"
"We are being attacked by Fire Nation!" Sokka yelled at her.

Appa got almost hit and lost his balance. They crashed almost down, but Appa could almost hit the water. Suddenly a Fire Ball was just right towards them. Mia jumped up and made a salto when she collected all her energy and strength. She could feel the hot stone on the palms of her hands and for a few seconds, the time seemed to stop. She could feel that the hot stone scratched her and she took a deep breathe. She screamed, and her hands set fire. She kicked the huge ball down, and it landed on on of the blockade's ship. She fell down, and Appa dived and got her, just before she would crash into the water.
