Chapter Ten

I walked out of the cell block and to the guard tower. I reached the top and scoured the grounds for Beth. She looked around my age and I could really use advice right now. I saw her walking towards the cell blocks, probably to get Judith.

I climbed down the tower and started sprinting towards Beth. I just really needed to talk to someone and she seems like she knows Carl and Luke a lot more than I do, so yeah, why not Beth?

"Beth!" I called, I will admit, I was a sprinter in school and then I quit, I should not have quit. I finally reached Beth but I was breathing heavily, "Beth," I said in between breaths.

"Yeah?" She asked looking at me, "Are you okay?" She asked

"No, I need your advice." I said calming my heart rate,

"Okay, well come with me, I need to grab Judith first then we can talk." She said opening the door for me.

We walked in and went to where Maggie was holding Judith's carrier.

"Hi! Juli right? Luke's Girlfriend?" Maggie asked. My stomach twisted. I kissed Carl while I was dating Luke.

I took a second, "Yeah, hi Maggie." I smiled, she gave me a concerned look and was going to say something but that guy um, Glenn? Sure...Glenn, called her over. She closed her mouth and waved as she ran to Glenn.

"Come on," Beth said tapping my arm gently, "We can talk in my cell."

We went and sat in Beth's cell. It didn't look like she shared with anyone. She sat down on the bed and patted the seat next to her. She took Judith out of the carrier and sat her on her lap.

"So what's up?" Beth asked,

"I need advice." I said maybe to quickly.

"On what?" She asked smiling, "I can help you even if I can't relate."

"On um..relationships." I said 'relationships' quietly as I was afraid someone would hear.

"Oh, oh lord, you don't need the talk do you?" She said in a worried voice, she got up and walked to the cell door, "MAGGIE!" She called

"Beth!" I said/yelled, "It's more complicated than that."

"Oh," She said, "NEVER MIND MAGGIE, WE'RE FINE." She sat back down, "What's up?"

"Um, well I am sorta having...boy troubles?" I said hesitantly,

"With Luke?" She asked, I nodded and looked at her giving her the 'look', "And Carl...Carl's in this too isn't he?" She asked as I nodded and looked down.

"I thought that you probably know them better than I do, and that you could help." I said into my hands. I was in all honesty ashamed of what I had done to Luke behind his back, but at the same time, didn't care.

"Well, I'll tell you something about Carl," Beth said raising my head to look at her. "He always thinks that he's in love with any girl that's near his age." She explained

"You?" I asked, she nodded. "So what do I do about my problem?" I asked her

"What's the problem?" She asked while starting to feed Judith.

"I'm dating Luke and I kissed Carl and I don't feel entirely sorry." I confessed. Beth stopped and looked at me,

"You kissed Carl?" She hissed

"Yes! And trust me I feel bad but not entirely...like a piece of me doesn't feel bad." I told her.

"Juli..." Beth said slowly, looking off in the distance.

"What Beth?" I asked, she didn't answer, she just kept staring at me but not at me, it was like something was behind-

"You kissed Carl?!" A voice shouted, I whipped around to see Rick.

"Um...Rick..how long have you, um, been standing there?" I asked stuttering, I hope he's not as mad as he seems.

"Long enough for us to hear." Rick shot back, I was going to reply but I stopped.

"Us?" I asked.

"Yes, 'us'. Rick and Me." An Australian accent cut the tension with a knife.

"..Luke?" I said barley choking out the name.

"Yeah." He stepped into view. "I went to find you because you never came back." He said. Hurt caked his voice. I tried to say something but I wasn't able. The guilt smashed down on me like a ton of bricks. I tried to search his eyes but I couldn't read them. He turned and started walking away towards the exit. I broke free of my paralyzation and started running after him.

"Luke!" I called out. "Luke please!" He shook his head and continued walking. We were outside and heading towards the gates. "Luke! Luke please!"

He opened the gate and started walking on the road. A pack of Walkers spotted him and started walking, or I guess trudging, towards him. I saw in his holster he isn't have a gun.

"Shit!" I mumbled and started sprinting. I finally caught up and stopped him.

"What?" he spat. I whipped my katana out and the color left his face, "Babe, I was just joking...don't kill me." I stabbed a Walker behind him. I tossed him a gun I kept tucked in my waistband in case of emergencies. After we killed the Walkers that surrounded us I grabbed his collar and dragged him to the gate where Daryl let us in.

"Quite a show Princess." Daryl smirked. Luke gave him the death glare

"It's a nickname." I said standing in front of him blocking his way. "Look, I know why I did was wrong and I'm sorry. After I saw the hurt in your eyes the guilt crashed down all at once." I said grabbing his hand. "Luke, I am so so so sorry...It won't happen again. I promise." Luke looked down at me for a split second I saw forgiveness, then it was gone.

"I need time." He trudged away. I stood there in anger and shock but calmed down. He had a reason, I reminded myself, he has a pretty damn good reason.

"Princess?" Daryl asked walking over. "Do you want to finish that little hunting trip?"

I nodded and took the crossbow from him. "It will make you fee better and forget all of this. I promise." I nodded, I guess I was going hunting with Daryl.
