That trip to Hawaii - Erikleen Fanfiction

How it all started...

Hi everyone! I'm quite new at writing erikleen fics but i used to write fics in other fandoms in the past. This chapter is just a very simple beginning, i promise it gets better! Enjoy xxx

Two years. Two whole years I have been with the love of my life, Erik. I sit across from him now, watching his delicate curls dance on his forehead as were out at dinner celebrating our anniversary. Hes dressed so smart and stylish – a white button up shirt accompanied by a navy blazer. Getting the sense Ive been staring at him for a while, Erik looks up, and flashes me the same smile I fell in love with all that time ago.

"You okay?" He asks, a hint of concern in his eyes. I just nod in return, too in awe of his looks to speak, as I turn back to my food. I start to think about how it all began

2 years ago

I am so ready for this trip. After Id found out haters back off wasnt coming back for a third series, I wanted nothing more than to spend some time with my family and closest friends in Hawaii. Sure, we had shows to do, but being on stage was also one of my main sources of happiness. I continued to check the final items in my bags, eager to be one step closer to soaking up the Hawaiian sun. Another thing that made this trip even more special was the fact Angela and Erik were coming too, along with Angelas husband. I hadnt spent much time with Angela since haters came out, we both had such busy lives. Erik, however, had just been to Europe with me on my tour, and weve met up quite a lot anyway. I couldnt be more thankful that my show, along with all the other positives, left me with friends for life.

"Colleen! The car's here" I hear Kory shout from downstairs.

"One sec!" I respond, zipping up my suitcases and rolling them to the top of the stairs. Kory ran up to help me carry them down, considering my shoulder was pretty much no use. I checked I had everything in my handbag, locked up the house, and made my way to the car.

Around 10 minutes into the journey, my phone buzzed with a message.

Erik: LA traffic! Just in a cab, wont be too long

Me: Ive literally just left my house, see you soon!

I typed back, smiling at the fact he thinks hes late. If theres one thing he should know about me by now, its the fact that Im always late to everything.

We arrive at the airport, and I see a familiar face waiting where our car pulls in.

"Erik! Hi" I exclaim, giving him a hug as Kory and the driver retrieve our bags from the car. I thank the man and grab the handle of my suitcase, pulling it inside the airport. As the three of us make our way to check in, I see Angela and her husband Josh sitting on a bench. When she sees me, her face lights up, and I can feel mine doing the same.

"Colleen! Hey, howve you been?" She asks, engulfing me in a tight squeeze. I quickly update her about what Ive been up to whilst we wait for my parents and my sister. When they arrive, we realise that were in quite a rush, and we just make it onto the plane before the gate closes.

"Let me help you with that" Erik says, taking my carry-on out of my arms and placing it in the overhead locker. I smile sweetly and return my thanks, as I claim the window seat. Erik sits down in the middle next to me, as he hands me something out of his own bag.

Confused, I ask "Whats this?"

"A present," He smirks, "For you"

"But, what did I do?" I ask, my eyes widening with wonder.

He softy laughs as he looks into my eyes, "Its sort of a well-done slash thank you present. A well done for all the effort and extreme hard work you put into Haters back off, and a thank you for letting me be a part of it"

Before even opening the present, I can feel my eyes begin to fill with tears. Speechless, I tear back the paper gently, my hands shaking from the overwhelming rush of emotions that just hit me. Inside the paper, there are two boxes. As I go to open the first, Erik stops me.

"That ones sort of a joke present, you dont actually have to wear them" He begins to blush.

Even more curious than I was before, I open the box. Inside, was a pair of earrings, in the shape of a Froze Toes, the ice cream thats a staple in our show. The tears that were previously in my eyes escaped and raced down my cheeks.

"Erik, I love them, thank you. And of course, this isnt a joke present Im going to wear them now" I say, gently rubbing his arm whilst his face flushes even more. I put the earrings in, almost completely forgetting about the other box. When I remember, I look at Erik right before I open it. His face has turned from a soft flushed pink to a full on bright red, which sends a rush of nerves through me as I tremble to open the box.

Inside, is a necklace. A dainty purple diamond heart sits around the necklace, glistening in the tiny bit of sunlight that shone through the plane windows. Im in complete shock as more tears leave my eyes. I wrap my arms tightly around Eriks neck, awkwardly sobbing into his shoulder. I break the hug away to look into his eyes

"Thank you. You really, really did not have to do this, it mustve cost you a fortune! Thank you, I truly love it so much" I proclaim, meaning every word.

"You deserve it, thank you for everything" He says back "Now, lets watch a movie, its a long flight"

I carefully put my necklace back in the box and into my handbag. That I was going to save for a special occasion.
