The long drive was mostly in silence, not that you minded. It wasn't awkward at all and you had a lot on your mind. After all, this was a new beginning for you and that could always be more than a little frightening.
As for Zane well, he was the one driving. It was about a four or five hour drive plus the usual periodic stop for a bathroom break or food but none of that really explained the air of stress and worry surrounding him. You mean, what is there for him to fear? You were the one meeting his friends, not the other way around. Maybe he was worried you wouldn't like his friends and you'd leave...? No, that didn't amount to much sense. He knew you were worried about them accepting you and had a full mind to accept them. His friends couldn't be that bad, right? Zane was the perfect guy. The kind of perfect guy who had perfect friends. Was it, as doubtful as it would be, that he was hiding something from you?
No. You quickly scorned the thought away. He knew there was nothing to hide from you. Unless... Unless there was something you didn't know about him. Well, there was a lot of things you didn't know about Zane. Again, you had only been together for six months and as much as you knew of him, there was still so much more of him to learn about. It was all so confusing.
"You seem quiet." he noted while not moving his eyes from the road.
"I could say the same for you."
A chuckle left his lips. "I guess so. We must have really worn each other out this morning." He turned his head to smile his shining smile at you before looking back on the road, but you could tell from his eyes his heart wasn't in it.
"Yeah." You didn't buy his answer, and it showed in your voice. He chuckled again in an effort to release the tension in the car, but you had no intention of letting him off that easy. "Zane, why are you so worried?"
"Worried? What makes you say that?" He kept that smile on his face, but it didn't reach his eyes. What is going on with him?
"Are your friends drug dealers?"
Zane laughed, finding that very amusing. "No. Of course not."
"Then what?"
Instead of answering you, he parked the car. "We're here." Stepping out of the car, he waited for you to climb out before locking it and grabbing your hand. Your hands always seemed to fit so perfectly together.
The looming door of his apartment, which he shared with his friends, towered before you, giving you the feeling of being an ant. Swallowing forcibly, you stared at it as Zane squeezed your hand to comfort you.
"It's okay," he whispered in your ear. His voice was full of the kindness and gentleness that made you fall for him since the beginning. The feeling of him beside you was the only reason your feet stayed planted and didn't take off down the street.
Zane waited until you were sufficiently calmed before he unlocked the door. You let out a deep breath you hadn't realized you'd been holding, as you made the final step of your journey with your lover by your side. *magical page-turning noise*
"He's back!" A streak of black and neon purple hair plowed into Zane, embracing him in a hug. "Welcome back!"
Zane chuckled and was forced to let go of your hand to hold the young woman in his arms and keep her from sending them both to the floor. She pecked him on the cheek before letting go. That's when she saw you awkwardly standing off to the side.
"Oh my gosh! He brought a girl!" Now it was your turn to be caught in a death hug. You stepped back a bit from the force. "You're so pretty!" She giggled and grabbed your cheeks, smiling at you as she leaned uncomfortably close. Before you knew it, her lips were on yours.
Blushing bright red, you froze up as your mind went blank. Zane, your knight in shining armor, saved you by pushing you both apart. He pulled you against his chest and you wrapped your arms around his waist.
"Your lips are so soft!" The girl giggled. She licked her lips as though she wanted more and you held Zane tighter, uncomfortable and confused what was going on.
"That's not how you kiss her.~" Zane replied playfully. With one hand he gently tilted your chin before he kissed you passionately. At first you were a bit shy, kissing in such a fashion in front of a stranger, but soon you forgot all about the girl as your fingers tangled themselves in his hair and pulled him closer. You felt Zane smirk triumphantly into the kiss as he licked your bottom lip and you gave him access to your mouth. Your tongues wrestled against each other as you both fought for dominance. Closing your eyes, you let out a soft moan as he won and explored your mouth, rubbing his tongue against yours.
"Wow guys. Get a room!" The chocolate-skinned girl said, playfully slapping her friend's arm.
Zane pulled away from you, breaking the kiss as he smirked at her and held you tightly against him. "Maybe we will.~"
You blushed as the girl laughed again. "You'd have to wait for Tyler to get done first."
"Is that where he is? I was wondering why it was less annoying in here." Zane said in a playful manner.
"Don't let him hear you say that. Oh and how rude of me! I forgot to introduce myself!" She laughed as you smiled uncomfortably. She was definitely an interesting person and not exactly the kind of friend you were expecting Zane to have. "I am Zoey!" She grabbed your hand from around Zane and shook it in an exaggerated manner.
"I'm Y/n." You said, attempting to pull back your hand as she held it. She tugged on it as though trying to pull you to her. Luckily, Zane seemed to feel it too since he was still holding onto you and he held you tighter against his chest, which you didn't seem to mind.
"And taken.~" He said, kissing you again but this time it was full of dominance as he claimed you as his. This time, however, the kiss only lasted for a few moments before he pulled away giving Zoey a strange look you hadn't seen before and you didn't know what to make of it. But whatever it was, it caused Zoey to let go of your hand and let it fall back to your side.
"Hey, hey, hey! There's my man!" You turned to see a half-naked man walking toward you down the hall. His body was gleaming with sweat, showing off his extremely well-defined body.
"Hey Tyler!" Zane let go of you and walked over to him with his arms open as he embraced the taller, stronger male. "How's it going man?" They slapped each other on the back and Zane chuckled.
"Pretty good. Who's the new hottie?" Tyler looked over Zane's shoulder during the hug, his eyes trained on you.
Thinking he couldn't be talking about you, you turned around and looked to see what else he could be looking at. "You mean the door? I thought that has always been there."
,,
Tyler smirked. He didn't seem to be one to laugh or chuckle like Zane's more friendly attitude. "Sexy and funny.~ I think we'll have to keep this one." He broke the bro hug and walked over towards you. Everything about him scream dominance: his height, his muscles, the way he walked, the tone in his voice. You felt red creep on your cheeks as he approached. "On a scale of one to ten, how sensitive are you?"
You blushed darker and shied away from his overwhelming presence, "W-What?"
"Never mind. I'll see for myself.~" Opening your mouth, you started to reply only for him to roughly grasp your pussy and squeeze it. You gasped and moaned as you turned fifty shades darker. "Very.~" He smirked.
"Hey, hands off my girl Tyler. She's not ready for that yet." Zane said, putting a hand on his sweat-shimmering shoulder and he removed his hands from you.
"Fine. But Zoey isn't allowed to kiss her then."
"Zoey!" Zane swung to look at her daringly.
You had completely forgotten about her but turning your head, you noticed she was right in your face. Who knew how long she had been sneaking up on you. "Awe! Damn it! I was so close too!" She pulled away and licked her lips sexily. "You taste good~"
"I bet she does.~ But those aren't the lips I was wanting to taste.~"
"Come one guys, you're embarrassing her." It was true. You were probably red up to your ears by now and you eagerly accepted Zane's embrace as he pulled you into his chest again. Inside his arms was a dream. You felt so protected and safe, all you wanted to do is snuggle in his arms forever and never be let go. It made you feel loved.
"Awe! Her cheeks are so red! It's adorable!" Zoey adored your face and, turning, you buried it in Zane's chest. You were tired from the long drive and this was getting real uncomfortable.
"Those aren't the only cheeks I want to see red.~" A large hand slapped your bottom from behind, causing you to let out a small squeal. "Such sexy noises.~"
"Tyler! Don't touch my girl!" Zane pulled you further away from him.
"Hey. She turned around. If that's not a feminine sign for 'spank me,' I don't know what is." Tyler said in defense.
"You need to learn more respect for women!" Out of the corner of your eye, you saw Zoey cross her arms. "And if he got to touch her again I want to have another kiss! And this time with tongue.~" She caught your eye and licked her lips again. You quickly turned away, causing her to giggle.
"Come on guys. You're embarrassing Y/n." Zane rubbed your back soothingly in an effort to calm you down.
"Y/n.~ A sexy name for a sexy lady.~"
"Whatever Tyler. Where is Charisse anyways?"
"Oh, she won't be walking for the rest of the night. I made sure of that. She was a bad girl and I had to punish her.~" You bit your lip, getting even more uncomfortable with the conversation, which until now you hadn't thought was possible.
"Let's just go to the other room. Did you guys already order take out?"
"Yep! Your favorite!" Zoey said happily as everyone started moving towards what you would presume the kitchen at the end of the hallway. You walked next to Zane, holding his hand and lagging towards the back. The whole situation from the last several moments had your head spinning.
"Thanks guys. It's great to be back!" Zane chuckled and put his arm over your shoulders, pulling you close. This was definitely going to be an interesting day.
