It's been three weeks. Everything was going extremely well. Charisse still didn't like you, but she mainly avoided you so it wasn't like you were even able to talk with her. It was both frustrating and relieving. You wanted her to like you since she was Zane's friend and you adored him but no one wants to hang around someone who hates them and acts like a bitch.
Aside from that, Zoey and Tyler had become really good friends with you even with the occasional kiss or hand-grabbing they gave you. Zane was, of course, the most perfect boyfriend any guy could possibly be. Jason still flirted with you but Zoey did her best to keep him busy so it was at a minimum. Jenny, on the other hand, was your best friend. You two had really hit it off and it felt like you had a(nother) sister.
Zane's relationship with his friends, however, was more than a little strange. In some ways you could understand that being the case considering how grabby they were. Yet something still felt off about it but you just couldn't put your finger on it. Maybe it was the way his hand lingered just a little too long when it brushed against Zoey's. Or the way he looked at Charisse when he thought you couldn't see. Or the way he had a look in his eyes as he scanned over all of his friends at one time or another. But maybe your mind was just imagining it all.
When you went home that Wednesday night though, there was one thing you knew you didn't imagine: Zane and Zoey.
Zoey said she wasn't feeling too well so she left early and asked you to close up. Since she was your friend, you agreed like any other friend would do. It wasn't hard work anyways especially since Jason's shift had already ended and he wasn't there to try and win his way into a date and, his most likely goal, into your pants. The sky was dark and stars twinkled high above as you walked the cool path home. The air was chilly but your thick jacket kept you warm. Despite the peaceful setting, the hair on the back of your neck stood straight up. That and the pit in your stomach seemed to tell you something was wrong. Nothing appeared out of place so you hurried home, getting there in half the time it normally takes and opened the door. Nothing could explain the horrible feeling that shredded your heart as the scene unfolded for you.
"Ngh!~ Zane!~" Zoey's voice lead you further into the apartment into the living room. The dark-skinned beauty's back arched on the couch as he pounded into her. He, a traitorous bastard, groaned in pleasure, sucking on her neck-he way he did with you-to muffle his noises. The flawless woman below him had her hands tangled in his hair as he kissed down to her enormous breasts-far bigger than yours or anyone else's. The man who was your lover for nearly seven months sucked and kissed on the mounds, leaving dark marks on her dark skin.
You mouth hung open in shock. It was a stab of betrayal from both of them. Charisse happened to step out of the bathroom just then. Her eyes immediately noticed your shocked and pained expression and she smirked. She acted like this had been happening every time your back was turned and even in front of your face but you hadn't even seen it.
Your heart stalled in your chest as a animalistic cry of pain and shock erupted from your open lips, causing Zane to turn your way. His eyes met yours and they were instantly full of guilt and pain.
You didn't stay to hear or see anymore not even caring about his explanation. Nothing could justify such blatant cheating. Spinning around, you ran outside as tears streamed down your face. The pain grew in your chest and it felt like you were being crushed under an immense burden. You couldn't think. You couldn't even breathe. Maybe if you got away it would get better. Maybe as the distance from the cause of your suffering your pain would lessen, but with every step the burden dragged you down even more. You had no reason to go on. Nothing would be the same. Zane was cheating on you. You should've known. He was far too good for you. He could've dated any girl with bigger breasts and a better ass-both things Zoey had.
You only stopped getting away when you were more than lost in the city. Where would you go now? You had no home, no family here. Where was there to go? Jenny. You thought. Pulling out your phone, you dialed her number. What were you even going to say? No words could possibly describe your situation. You waited two rings before she picked up.
"Hey girl! What's up?" Jenny said in a cheery voice. She seemed happy to talk with you.
"Z-Zane," you stuttered, not even able to get out the words. Saying his name only ripped the fresh wound even more. Your mind still wasn't processing what you'd seen. Taking a deep breath, you asked with tears, "May I crash at your place for a while?"
"Yeah. Of course. Where are you? Do you need help?" Her tone was worried and even fearful for you.
"No, and I'm down the street, and caddy-corner from the cafe." You kept taking deep breath to hold back more tears but they continued to stream down your cheeks.
"Oh, right outside the bookstore? Yeah, I know where that is. Just go to the left two blocks and I'm in the apartment complex second one down." You nodded and started following her instructions. "Are you sure you're okay?" She asked seriously. Worry was obvious in her voice.
"No." You replied. She sighed but knew your position well enough not to push on the subject at that moment. "I'll tell you when I get there."
"Okay."
"Thank you."
"Of course."
You hung up and walked quickly to her apartment. All you wanted to do was just curl up in a ball with Netflix and a gallon of ice cream in your bed and cry. But you didn't have a bed. You lived with him after all.
You knocked on Jenny's apartment door while double checking the number. The pretty blonde ribbed the door and embraced you while pulling you inside.
"Are you hurt?" Jenny asked, letting you go after a while.
"Not physically." Just like that you felt tears in your eyes again. You didn't want to cry again, but you had no control over the salty liquid that found its way down your face.
"Oh honey." She hugged you again. Letting you go, she closed and locked the door before guiding you to the couch and sitting you down. Your only friend let you cry as she brought you tissues and a glass of water. Jennie placed both in front of you and you grabbed a tissue to catch all the tears.
You felt her rub your arm in an effort to comfort you. "It's okay. Let it all out. I'm here for you."
"Z-Za-" you couldn't even say his name.
"Sh. It's okay. You don't have to talk about it yet." After that you gave up and just let the tears fall.
You didn't know how long you cried or when the tears stopped but finally they did. Piles of white tissues surrounded you. Thirst resided in your parched mouth and you took some sips from the glass of water.
"Better?" Jenny asked. Worry was clear in her voice.
You nodded, "He.... he cheated on me... with Zoey."
"I'm so sorry!" She hugged you tightly, "He's such an ass."
You wanted to cry again but the tears would no longer fall. "I should've known. He's always been too good for me."
"Don't say that. You're too good for him."
"Have you seen him? He's like a god."
"If he was all that great then he wouldn't have cheated on you. He's such a dick."
You sighed. You didn't agree with her but you knew she was just trying to comfort you. "Thank you for letting me stay here..."
"No problem girl. Stay here as long as you'd like. Now get some sleep. You can have my bed." She helped you up and guided you to her room.
"Jenny, I couldn't-"
"I insist. Do you want to shower or are you hungry or something?"
"A bath would be nice." You felt pathetic from how weak and unstable you were. Both physically and mentally
"Okay." She changed direction and guided you into the bathroom. After sitting you down on the toilet, she pulled out a fluffy beige towel and set it on the counter for you. She turned on the water and made you a steamy bubble bath. It reminded you of-shit. Here comes the tears again.
You slid into the water, trying to numb out the stabbing pain in your chest. Nothing seemed to help the growing pain in your chest.~Jenny's POV~
I was worried about Y/n. She seemed really hurt by the fact Zane cheated on her with Zoey. I was worried that she would just end it-end the pain, end everything-if I left her alone in the bathroom so I kept checking on her periodically.
Not even a moment after I closed the door, someone knocked on my apartment door. I sighed. I wasn't expecting anyone but I decided to check out who it was anyways. Sneaking a peek through the hole, I see Zane standing on the other side. For a moment I debated on not answering. He was the cause of my best friend's tears but on that same note I wanted to answer just to bitch slap him and slam the door on his face.
He knocked again and I sighed, opening the door. "Oh hey Zane." I pretended to be surprised but I was never a good actor.
"Hey Jenny. Is Y/n here?" His attire appeared to be hastily thrown together with no jacket despite the freezing weather and his breath came out in breathy pants as if he had been running. Worry and shame formed on his features. God damn right you should be ashamed you fucking bastard. You hurt my friend. Despite that, I had to admit he was really good looking but I wouldn't even try to tap that. He was first Zoey's and then Y/n's.
"No," I lied. "Why? Is something wrong?"
He didn't seem to fall for it but played along. His eyes scanned the space behind you as though looking for her. "I... I just..." he sighed, "If you see her, tell her I can explain everything. It was a mistake not telling her." His brilliant blue eyes shamefully looked to the ground. It was clear he hated himself for what happened and god damn right he should.
"God damn right it was a mistake. You cheated on her-you fucking dick. There's nothing more to explain." My best friend mode took over and I couldn't stop my rage at what he had done.
His eyes widened and looked up in surprise. Shit! I just confirmed she's here! The cheating ass took a step inside and I quickly slammed the door on him. "Please! Let me see her!" he begged yet he didn't try to force open the door. "Just give me a chance to explain!"
"She doesn't want to see you. Just. Get. The. Fuck. Out." I opened the door slightly and kicked his foot out before slamming it shut and bolting it closed. "Don't come back or I'll call the cops!" I threatened. He didn't knock again and I walked away. The tub was draining anyways so Y/n must be done. I had a remedy of ice-cream and Netflix waiting for her. I'd stay up all night with her if she needed.
