"Hazel wake up!"
"What the-" is all I managed to say before I felt the hard carpet connect with my nose, shortly followed by the rest of my face and body. The only cover that was on top of me was soon snatched away and I immediately scrunched up into a ball. "What?" I whined, not opening my eyes.
"Haz! Wake yo ass up! Ain't no sleeping!" I knew who it was the minute that phrase came out her mouth. I swung my arms around hoping to hit her legs, but ended up hitting the nightstand instead.
"Shit!"
"Ha that's what you get," I heard her walk around to the bed and plop down as I clutched my throbbing hand, "Now come on get up seriously so we're gonna be late."
I shifted on the floor trying to get comfortable, "What time is it?"
"Nine fift-"
"Faith you lil shit" I yelled as I sprung up and ran to my draws. "Why didn't you wake me up earlier?!" I blindly grabbed a shirt, pants, and underwear. I ran out my room before she could answer. I crashed into the bathroom an turned on the tub water waiting for the water to turn warm. She casually stood in the door way.
"Because," she paused and looked at me creepily "you look so peaceful when your sleeping." I started to laugh at how creepy she was.
"Weirdo," I picked up a towel and threw at her so she would leave.
"But you love me," she said leaving.
"Or nah!" I said closing the door.
"You have to!" She said as I started undressing.
"And I regret it!" I chuckled to myself. I flicked the shower mode on hopped in. I washed up quickly then hoped out and put on my clothes.
Some how I ended up with a white Coca Cola shirt and gray sweatpants.
"Not bad." I walked in the small kitchen and grabbed an apple where the light skin girl was.
Her dark brown hair hung just past her shoulders. Her round face was bare except for the light blush, mascara, and her light freckles mixed with acne scares.
"Make-up or?" I asked her as she turned around, still eating her cereal. She examined me then made up her mind.
"Nah, you already look bad enough."
"Thanks buddy, you're so nice."
"I know right," I walked out to the living room, grabbed my bag, and slung it over my shoulder.
"I'm taking your beanie," I said placing it on my head with one hand.
"Nigga no."
"You got my shirt on." I pointed to my white tank with Brooklyn written in big red letters.
"Ugh!" She frowned as she picked up my keys, "come on let's go." I smiled and we walked out of our apartment and down to flights to my car outside. It was a light brown 1990 Ford. It was dirty and not in the best condition, but he's my baby. I waited for Faith to unlock the car. After she struggled with him, the lock popped open and we climbed in.
"You need new car."
"Leave me and Darwin." I buckled my seat belt and laid back.
"Yeah okay," she did the same and started the car, " Did you bring your bag?"
"Yeah," she shifted the gears and packed out of the space.
"Okay," she sifted them again and drove off. We started on the way to our university. "Why is you're car named Darwin?"
"Because of Gumball and Darwin," I trailed of hoping she would catch on. Nothing happened. "You know," I drifted off again. Still nothing. "From The Amazing World of Gumb-"
"Oooohhhhh," she said remembering what I was talking about, "that show!"
"No," I reached over forwards an turned on the radio, "the other show," I said over dramatically.
"Well than. You don't have to be so rude about," she mumbled under her breath.
"Dude," I said chuckling a bit,"I was being sarcastic."
"Oh," she turned on her turning signal as she came to a red light,"your sarcasm is terrible."
"Is it that bad," the turned green and she started to drive again.
"Yes."
"Seriou-"
"Shut up my song's on." She leaned over and turned the radio up. So we rode the rest of the way singing and humming to the beats and lyrics that came into the car.
Finally we pulled up to the college. I hoped out as soon as it stopped. I grabbed my bag from the back, told Faith I would meet her back around 12, and left. I started on my way to my class enjoying the nice scenery passing by.
The tall dark brown trees were spotted with what looked like orange, and red flames, slowly falling to be quickly put out and crushed. They were scattered around on the cement, placed ever so gently. The gray clouded sky made every thing even more beautiful as a cool breeze swept by, kicking the leaves that were on the ground.
I finally walked into my building and down a few halls to my classroom. I sat in the back row as usual and got out my laptop, notebook, and tape record. Most of the class was here. Few more people walked in, followed by the professor.
"Take your seats everyone," he sounded giddy. Oh no," I have an exciting lesson planned."
"This is gonna take forever."
