When a human murders an animal such as a fox, a deer or the majority of animals, he is never punished for shedding innocent blood. Usually, humans excuse for killing an animal is that said animal is overpopulated, spreading illness, taking livestock, a threat or they merely shed blood for cruel entertainment.
Now let me tell you this. Overpopulation; ha, a flimsy and pathetic excuse. Humans overpopulate the earth also, yet there is no scheme to cull the Homo sapiens, is there? I am not including the deaths in war, for they are not committed due to the issue of overpopulation. If animals become too many, we start a cull. Yet, now that us humans have overpopulated the earth, no talk of a cull for Homo sapiens. Spreading illness; yes, red squirrels have caught illnesses from the imported greys, the plagues were caused by humans importing rats and consequently fleas from overseas. Humans are also responsible for disease, do not forget this. Animals do take livestock, it is true. Yet humans steal from shops, and they are not slain for the crime. So when an animal, starving during winter, takes livestock from a farm, it is alright to shoot or set up traps such as snares? I shall have you know also, that snares cause the agonising death of pets also. Animals, a threat? Humans have caused the extinction of dodo birds, passenger pigeons, a huge number of tigers, Formosan clouded leopards, Great auks, Japanese wrens, Syrian elephant and many, many more. Who's the threat now?
Now...the topic of cruel entertainment. Bull fights, fox hunts, gamebird shooting. Goaded to humiliate and die. Forced to exhaust and die. Bred to die. Forced to suffer for human entertainment. Their blood, their cries, their tortured bodies, their agonised eyes...are they really so entertaining? Would you kill a baby purely for a sense of joy and pleasure? If sadistic, perhaps. Now, fox cubs are killed by hounds, torn apart whilst alive, and their parents watch, helpless and in despair. Would you send a farmyard pig into a ring covered in explosive fireworks? If demonic, Perhaps. During a bullfight, a bull was sent out with fireworks exploding upon his body, tied there. Would you breed canaries merely to shoot at them for fun? If cruel, perhaps. Pheasants and gamebirds are kept in prison-like cages, the ground beneath merciless concrete. Then, their first months of freedom pass in terror and result in a premature death.
