KIM OTTER's POV

"Here, Lucas" I said, and slapped the cash onto the groggily man's lap. "Here's your filthy money" I hissed as Lucas smirked.

"Thanks boy! You made yourself useful for once" Lucas praised, before pushing me out of the room.

I walked upstairs, and changed out of the work clothes before slipping into something comfortable.

What am I doing in this cold?

Yes, I'm outside. I'm sitting beside a freezing lake, with intensely staring at it.

'How could something so beautiful on the outside be so cold in the inside' I thought as I dipped my fingertips into the almost-frozen water.

I felt a scarf being wrapped around my neck, as a smile (I've been missing) being unexpectedly placed in my view.

"Hey Otter" Raymond greeted before sitting on the stern ground next to me.

I turned away, not daring to look into the eyes of the man I love and trying to forget.

I pouted. 'How could this boy appear in my face after two months of neglecting me?'

I felt tears form in my eyes, threatening to fall if I wasn't careful.

"Otter, look at me" Raymond demanded.

I flinched, before hesitantly staring in the latter's eyes.

"What?"

"..." Raymond stayed silent, like he normally does.

"I'm going to go now" I informed, and stood up.

Raymond grabbed my wrist and pulled me down. A slight hope was telling me that Raymond wanted me back but was overcome by insecurity, telling me that he's only using me.

"Stay out of this weather, it'll make you sick" He advised, while rubbing my cold cheeks with his warms hands.

"Is that it?" I said, arrogantly.

"I—" Raymond closed his mouth, as if he wanted to say something dangerous.

I awkwardly waited for him to finish his response.

"Just say it!" I half-whispered, impatient.

"I hope you stay healthy" Raymond said.

I scoffed, before walking away.
