You know that saying...
Love at first sight?
Well... I've never believed in it. I always thought it took time to love someone. Like days, weeks months years...
But the day I saw him, my views on love at first sight changed.
I remember it like it was yesterday. He and I bumped into each other in the hall, knocking each other's books out of our hands.
"Oh I'm so sorry." I say, not looking up.
"It's okay." He chuckles bending down to gather his books.
I smile, a little and look up at him. And when our eyes locked, my heart skipped beats.
His eyes were the prettiest blue. His lips were pink and moist. And his smile was Gorgeous.
"Um... I-I'm Journey..."
"I'm Jason. Jason McCann."
Jason McCann.
Even his name was sexy.
"Um are you new here?" I ask finally getting up off the ground with my books.
"Uh yeah. I am." He says standing up with me.
"Cool. Well I can show you around if you'd like?" I offer.
"I'd like that... Journey." He smiles.
I showed him around, and eventually took him to his next class which was with me.
"Mr. Beachum... This is your new student Jason..." I say.
"Nice to see you finally, Mr. McCann. I see you've made a new friend. And a very reliable one at that." Mr. Beachum adds.
"Yes sir. I guess I have." He smiles, looking at me.
"Well have a seat and let's gets started." He says. Jason and I sit by each other and soon class starts.
After our last class, I head to the student parking lot.
"Hey! Journey..."
I look around to see Jason jogging towards me.
"Yeah?" I say.
"Hey... I never got a chance to thank you. Y'know for today."
"Oh it's no problem. I like helping people." I smile.
"Well thank you. Um... Maybe I could call you sometime?" He asks hopeful.
"Uh... Sure." I stammer.
"Great." He says, taking out his black iPhone. We exchange numbers and he hugs me from the side.
"I'll text you later, okay?" He says walking away.
"Okay. Be safe." I say watching him as he disappears down the road.
"Mom! I'm home!" I scream walking into the house.
"Hey sweetie. How was school?" My mom asks walking into the living room.
"Long... Boring... But I did meet someone."
"Ooh... Who would that be?"
"His name is Jason. He's a new student." I mumble plopping on the couch.
"Is he boyfriend material?" She asks quickly.
"Mom! I just met him today." I chuckle.
"Well... You need a boyfriend. I'm tired of seeing you mop around here."
"Well sorry." I mumble, looking down at my hands.
"Hey... I'm sorry. Okay? I just want to see my baby happy again."
I sigh not wanting to hear about this again. Every since my falling out with Danny, she's been trying to get me back on the dating scene. And to be honest, I'm not ready to put myself out there yet.
"I will mom. Just not now. Can I let my heart heal on it's on?" I ask.
She smiles, nodding her head. "Okay. But until then, let go get something to eat."
"Ok. What should we eat?"
"Your favorite." She smiles.
"Tacos?!" I squeal.
"Um hum." She hums grabbing her purse and keys.
As we were grabbing food, I felt my phone vibrate.
Unknown: Hi...
Me: Hey who's this?
Jason: Jason... Remember? The new student
Me: Oh hi sweetie.
Jason: How are you?
Me: I'm great. And you?
Jason: I'm fine. I just wanted to see how you were before I fell asleep.
Me: Awe. That's sweet.
Jason: Yeah. Well goodnight:)
Me: Goodnight
