I feel pain. The darkness is swamped with light. Blinding light.
I can feel my heart beating. Slowly, agonizingly. It hurts.
My lungs pulling in feeble breaths. I heard voices. My mother's voice. "Please! Not my baby! She can't be in a coma!" "I'm sorry, but it means that she should be able to live. It's better than never seeing her again. We we're lucky that Dr. Smith's husband was calling her when it happened."
I heard a few sniffles.
"How long do you suppose?" "Well, with the way her surgery went, the minimum time would be a month or two."
I felt a warm hand touch my face softly. "I love you, Kate." I heard the sounds of shuffling and a door opening and closing.
I don't remember how long it's been since I last saw my mom. She was the one who wanted me to pursue my dream.
She even tried to help me.
But I, being the idiot I am, decided I didn't need her help.
I can't help but think, if I'd had her help, would all of this have happened?
Probably not.
But I love my mother, and that will never change.
Aye. So, this is chapter 2, written by ThatOneDionysusGirl. Lainey and I will be alternating chapters, her the odds and I the evens. Anyways, we hope you have an amazing day!
