Dashing through the woods of the unknown, I'm exhausted and terrified. We are all haunted by our own monsters, I've never seen mine but felt her presence. I the a light in the distant and run desperately towards it.
I find myself on the road, with no cars or any sort of transport on it. Until suddenly a see a large bus coming from my right, I jump on to the bus and sit down. Soon after I take in my surroundings I realised this isn't a normal bus. It's seems quite posh, on the ceiling there we small chandeliers and a red carpeted floor.
I look around and find about half a dozen of other people on the bus too. At the front is a bus driver looking at me. "The chandeliers are used to keep those of your own monsters who have been haunting us, until we get to our destination, do not make any noises and you'll be fine", the bus driver suddenly spoke and turns around.
I mentally nod and look up to the chandelier and sees on of the globes flickering. Confused I look around the bus to see everyone, the are completely still and all facing forward with emotionless faces. I look up again and notice that the chandeliers are all now flickering. Scared, I lean further back into my seat.
Suddenly all the lights are shut off and I curl up onto my seat trying to adjust to the darkness, I feel that we are still moving but the speed is increasing. The light come on again. I see her, I see me. But she has a horizontal slice across her head with bloodied eyes. Her smile grows revealing dark sharp teeth and a smile that reaches to the cheek bones.
She start approaching me animalistic. I immediately close my eyes and chant to myself "it's not real, it's not real, it's not real". Usually this is where one would be hurt or killed, but I felt nothing.
I woke up, in a bed in a room with half cut walls inside a what looks like a massive house. Confused and fill with curiosity I get out of the room and head towards what looks like a living room attached with a kitchen. I spot eight other people in this area all casually seated or standing around the couch playing a video game intensely.
One of the guys turn around, "Oi guys we have another Chancer". The all turn around except for the one playing the game. The invite me over and congratulate me for what the explained is escaping death twice. They explained that what I went through is a test of fear, where the reapers (monsters of themselves) would have kill you if you didn't pass.
I look around and I see other people who what appears as them sleep walking, I walk over to one, trying to wake them. Ever heard, you should never wake someone while the sleepwalk. I should've taken this into consideration because the person drop, blood coming out of their eyes and ears. "I would advise not doing that because it's not going to work", I turn to face an old woman who spoke monotoned. She turned away to the kitchen and washed dishes.
"Don't worry about her, she's just a program. She won't hurt ya, she takes care of our food and cleans" a guy spoke from the living room with his eyes still glued to the screen.
"What are you guy doing?", I ask walking over to the couch. "Oh this, well this is the next level we have to try to not die again. We have all accepted that this is a game and we are just trying to survive, though we aren't animals so we take turns", the same guy explains. "The game game you see before you is no ordinary game, you see that is a racing game correct? Well I'm this to pass we believe you have to find the way to the finish." This is weird why not just follow the road,I think to myself. "And we can't follow the road, because it doesn't work", a girl explains.
"To too it off we only have five days to pass, otherwise the reaper will be coming after us"
