Chapter one

Haley's POV

I sit alone at the park. I can't believe I actually did it. I finally ran away. I hated that place. They abused me and they probably don't even care that I'm gone. I look at my iPod. It's only 1 pm. I don't know where I'm going to sleep tonight. I lived at the orphanage, so it's not like there's anywhere for me to go. I don't even know any of my real family. My foster parents hated me. They never did anything for me. If I needed something, I bought it for myself. I was already pretty much on my own. I don't own many things, so I only have one suitcase full of stuff. Among this stuff was about $100 that I saved up. It won't last me very long on my own though. Just the thought of me being all on my own scares me. I start to cry. I can't stop. I see a boy coming. I quickly wipe away my tears. I don't like it when people see me cry. He gets closer. I look away.

MattyBraps(Matty) POV

I see a girl sitting alone on the swings. She's really pretty. She has beautiful long, blonde hair. I start walking towards her. It looks like she's crying. I walk up to her. "Hey, are you ok?" I ask. "Yeah. I'm fine." She says. "Are you sure?" I say. She looks at me. "I don't even know who you are." "Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Matthew. But my friends call me Matty. I'm also know as MattyBRaps." I say.

Haley's POV

I get a good look at him. I realize who he is. "Oh. I've heard of you! I love you're music!" I say. "Thanks! Now do you wanna tell me what's wrong?" He says. "I'm just scared." I reply. "Why?" He asks. "I-I--I ran away from my orphanage. I'm scared I can't make it on my own." I stutter. "Why would you run away?" He asks. "They treat me badly. I hate it there. They abuse me non-stop and they don't care about me. They probably don't even care I'm gone." I tell him. He stares at me. I look away. "Well maybe you can stay with me!" He says. "Would your mom allow that? I don't want you to adopt me. Don't get me wrong, it would be amazing to be your sister. It's just that---I kinda have a crush on you. And it would be weird for me to have a crush on my brother." I can feel my face turn hot.

Matty's POV

Wow this girl is amazing. She's blushing. I hope my mom will let her stay with us. Well, probably not. She would never allow it. But what if I sneak her in. That would be perfect! "I have an idea." I explain the plan to her and she agrees. "What's your name?" I ask. "Haley" she replies. "How old are you?" I ask. "13." She says, "and you?" "12." I say. We leave the park and head to my house. I walk inside and see my mom left a note, "Matty, I went to the store. I will be home shortly. Love, mom." Perfect! She's not home. I go back outside and sneak Haley to my room. I tell her to wait there. I go and find Josh. I explain the situation and he promises not to tell mom.

Josh's POV

I can't believe Matt! Why would he sneak a girl into the house. Unless he likes her. Wow. But, she is homeless so we don't have a choice. I'm not going to tell mom because I know Matt would do the same for me. I want to meet her. I head to Matt's room. She's sitting on his bed. I walk in the room. She's really pretty. "Hello." I say. "Hey" she replies. "Don't worry, Matt explained everything. I'm not going to tell on him." I say. "Thank you. What's your name?" She says. "Josh." I reply. "Nice to meet you, Josh. I'm Haley." She says. I try to shake her hand. She walks over and hugs me instead, but I'm not complaining. After we meet I go back upstairs to find Matt. I don't know how we're going to keep this secret hidden from mom. But we have to try.
