"Nineteen-ninety-three?" Ringo asked incredulously.
"That's not even a real year!" John joked.
Paul was examining the jump reader, probably trying to figure out if it was fake or not. It probably looked like something out of a science fiction movie.
I suddenly saddened. It had been a wild couple of days, but I had to go back to what seemed to The Beatles as a sci-fi-future-land. My father must have been a mind reader. He had also always been a Beatles fan, but after the initial shock he became his usual, level, self again.
"You guys know... we can't stay around for much longer. I'm going to have to go back home," my dad frowned.
"Why!? Why can't you just stay here with us?" Ringo asked.
"Yeah! Please Penny?" Paul pleaded.
"C'mon! You can live with Georgie!" John motioned.
George said nothing but looked crestfallen. I'm sure I didn't look much better.
"George, can we have a minute?" I asked.
My dad kept explaining to the rest of the boys why we couldn't stay a Geo and I got up. We walked into the hallway and shut the door. George dragged his feet a little and looked at the floor. He was so cute. But there were so many things wrong with this.
"George, I have my mom back home--and a little brother. They need my dad and I,"
"Can't they just come visit?" George asked.
"No. George, you don't understand. You are in my history. I know your future. I can't be a part of that. I have to let time progress." I could feel my face burning. Tears threatened to fall from my eyelids.
I couldn't say anymore. I thrust myself into George, burying my face into his chest.
George didn't say anything either, and we stood there, for what seemed like an eternal moment.

Later that evening my dad set the Jump reader back to right after I left. He couldn't go back to before he had left (that would have been super paradoxical). My mom was going to be pissed.
But would back my dad up. All would be well, and we could be a family again.
I hugged all of the boys, leaving a soft kiss on George's cheek. I grabbed my dad and waved as The Beatles faded from view.
Then I was in my basement again with my father. It was 3am. I fell into his lap, and cried with relief for a long time.
