Come Back To Me

Chapter 3:

I woke up and got my jeans and a white t-shirt from my closet. I got dressed and brushed my teeth.

I went downstairs and saw that my sister was already up. I got a bowl of cereal and sat down at the table.

"So do you think that Paul likes me?" Hannah asked.

"Umm I don't know why don't you ask him" I said.

"Can you ask him?" she asked.

"No you have to ask him yourself" I said.

"Fine" she said sounding kind of mad.

I put my bowl in the sink and went up stairs to grab my backpack.

"Hurry up Charlie we are going to be late for school" Hannah yelled from downstairs.

"I'm coming" I yelled back. I ran downstairs and we left to school.

When we got to school I went to go find Paul. I found him near the lockers. He was talking to someone on the phone.

"Okay yeah I guess I can come over tomorrow. I got to go. I'll call you later" I heard Paul say to someone on his phone.

He was putting his phone away while I was walking up to him.

"Hey who were you talking to?" I asked.

"Just a friend. You don't know them" he said.

"Oh okay do you want to walk to English now?" I said.

"Yeah lets go we don't want to be late" he said.

We went to class and sat through another lecture on grammar.

After I went to history and worked on a project with my partner, but I couldn't concentrate because Jessica kept throwing papers at me.

The rest of the school day was a blur.

It was after school and I was at my locker putting my books away when Jessica came up to me.

"When are you going to ask me to homecoming?" she asked.

"I don't know if I'm going to take you as my date" I said.

"Why not? I'm hot and you like me" she said.

"Because I don't know who I'm going to take" I said.

"Well you should take me. Ask me right now" she said.

"I have a tutor session right now so I should go" I said.

"Okay call me later" she said.

"I'll try" I said.

I walked to my math class and saw that Danielle was sitting in the back.

"Hey sorry that I'm late" I said.

"Its okay. Shall we get to work" she said.

"Yeah lets get to work" I said. I sat down and took out my math notes and homework.

I noticed that she was wearing a floral dress.

"You look nice today" I said.

"Umm thanks" she said blushing.

"So today I got confused with the steps of these equations" I said.

"Okay well with these step you have to remember to change the second number to a positive" she said.

We finished most of the questions on my homework by the end of my tutor session. I shoved my notebook in my backpack and stood up.

"You shouldn't just shove things in your backpack" Danielle said.

"I know but I don't want to be late to baseball practice" I said.

"Oh well you better hurry. Oh by the way I was wondering if we could have the tutor session at my house tomorrow" she said.

"Yeah that will be fine. What's the address?" I said.

"Here let me write it down" she said. She got out a piece of paper and wrote down her address and then handed it to me.

"Thanks. I'll see you tomorrow" I said.

"Bye" she said waving to me.

While I was waving back I walked right into the wall.

Danielle laughed a little and I left kind of embarrassed.

My mom was waiting for me in the parking lot.

"Hi Charlie" my mom said.

"Hi mom" I said.

"How was your tutoring session?" she said.

"It was good. I finished most of my homework" I said.

"That's good. Did you text Jessica yet?" she said.

"No I was busy" I said.

"Well you need to text her back. She wants you to ask her to go to homecoming" she said.

"Do I have to go with her?" I asked.

"Yes she really likes you" she said.

"I'll think about it. Can we go? I'm going to be late to practice" I said.

"Fine" she said.

Practiced lasted a long time, but I was glad that it was over.

I walked home with Paul. He lived a couple houses down from us.

"Are you going to homecoming with my sister?" Paul asked.

"I don't know. Why?" I said.

"My mom said that your mom told her that you are going to ask Jessica" he said.

"My mom wants me to ask Jessica, but I don't want to go with her" I said. We reached my house.

"Well I'll see you tomorrow" I said.

"Later" he said.

I walked up my driveway and went inside.

My parents weren't home yet. They had some meeting today.

I went upstairs and started on my homework.

It was almost eight when my parents and sister got home.

I heard my sister go up to her room and slam the door.

"My parents came into my room with food.

"Here we stopped and got you some food" my mom said.

"Thanks. What's wrong with Hannah?" I said.

"She got in trouble at school" my dad said.

"Oh" I said.

"Yeah she is going to be suspended until next Friday so you need to ask Paul to give you rides to school" my dad said.

"Okay I will" I said.

"Okay well finish your homework" my mom said.

They left my room and went downstairs.

I finished the rest of my math homework and started on my english essay when I got a text from Paul:

Paul: My mom is making me ask your sister to homecoming :(

Me: That sucks. Why don't you tell her that you don't want to go with my sister?

Paul: I can't. She said that I will have to quit baseball if I don't go with her.

Me: How about I go with your sister so you won't be bored.

Paul: That would be great. Thanks. I owe you big time bro. I g2g I have to finish the English essay

Me: I'll talk to you later

I put up my phone and finished my essay.

After that I ate the food my parents brought me and then went and took a shower.
