Forever

You said our love would last forever,

Though it wasn't a simple endeavour,

All the fights and arguments,

All the heartless awfulness,

Through all the anger and frustration,

Through all the tears and deprecation,

Regretting all of our words,

Stabbing through as if some swords,

All of our pain and misery,

Led us to all sorts of injury,

The pain I felt,

The pain I dealt,

But the past is in the past,

As a spell that has been cast,

From my life you disappeared,

My mind was never cleared,

You were stuck in my head,

Until you finally fled,

You can't move on if you dwell in the past,

That was the lesson that would always last,

Though I still hold you close to heart,

Even when we are far apart,

I must move on from you, my love,

Fly away like a mourning dove,

Our love I wish lasted forever,

Although it seems it lasted never.
