A bit of a filler. Sorry if it's a bore.

Chapter 3: Fools of Love

The plane ride to England was very long and tedious. Being sandwiched between a man who could use proper hygiene and a teen who little boy who constantly kicked the chair in front of him and got almost got him in big trouble, Jason prayed that his mom would give him a nice comfy bed to sleep on. Sleep has evaded him as his mind was constantly clouded by that blond haired angel.

It’s been months. Snap out of it,’ a familiar voice whispered to him, causing him to snap his eyes open. Was he dreaming? He’d recognize that voice anywhere.

“Louis?” he whispered into the air, hoping to hear his voice again.

“How’d you know my name, mister?” the little boy’s green eyes bored through his dark brown ones in curiosity.

“I…Um…” Jason was at loss of words. Was that Louis’s way of telling him to get over his sister? Louis has been constantly invading his dreams and sometimes, Jason finds himself zoning out and hearing his voice.

He bunched his fists and rubbed his eyes furiously. Now was not the right time to cry.

I’m pathetic,’ he thought to himself angrily. It’s been six months! He has toured around from state to state, promoting his new book. He made tons of money and his book was currently climbing its way up the top. His publisher has thoroughly praised him and has ensured him that it was going to be number one in a few weeks or so. He should be absolutely happy with his life, instead of sulking over someone who has never loved him.

Here he was, dreaming, thinking and still wishing that Leila had gone after him… That she tried to stop him, in spite of how encouraging he sounded in his letter- telling her to go after Mason. Making a silent vow to himself, Jason opened his eyes and prayed for strength. He needed all the strength and possibly alcohol he can get his hands on. He will have to do more book signings and tours around England too and after that, he will take a much needed break from writing novels.

Suddenly, the images of the patches of blood on his bed sheets back in New York clouded his mind. Alcohol was definitely out of that list. Maybe all he needed was his mother. Yes, the last person he’d consider family. That’s all he needed.

The pilot’s voice echoed through the plane as he announced the plane’s landing. The flight would’ve seemed longer if he wasn’t thinking too hard.

He grabbed his luggage and immediately spotted his mother with a huge sign of his name on it. Her petite body and long brunette hair and brown eyes brought a warm feeling through Jason. He missed his mother dearly. Standing tall and wearing the same broad grin as his mother was Connor Marx- his soon to be step father.

“Glad you made it back safely, son,” Connor pulled him into a comforting hug as his mother stepped in and joined in for a group hug.

“You must be tired! Months of going around and promoting that book of yours!”

“My agent wants me to try touring around England for a little bit. Maybe five or six book stores and book signings,” he looked at his mother’s grin turn into a disapproving scowl.

“David will get it! I specifically asked for him to give you a break before my wedding and Bradley’s,” she clutched onto his arm tighter while fishing for her phone with her other hand. “He is going to-“

“At least he made it here,” Connor stepped in, grabbing her. “Jason is an adult now, love. He can handle this. Let’s get home. I won’t get in the way of your tours, so long as you promise to make it to some of the rehearsals and to our actually weddings.”
