Mutants (yoonseok) DISCONTINUED

chapter 9

   Mr.Kim walked into the police department and goes into the bosses office. The boss was busy with paperwork, not even noticing that Mr.Kim walked in. "Excuse me, Mr. Lee?" He asked trying to get his attention. Mr. Lee surprisedly looks up before saying "Oh! I didn't even notice you came in detective." while laughing.

   Mr.Kim laughed too and went over in his head what he was about to ask. "So what do you need Mr.Kim?" He asked. "I would like to reopen Min Yoongi's case sir." The boss just stared at him for a moment while Namjoon's dad waited for a response. "That case was a dead end trust me, I think it's best you don't." Mr.Lee says. Mr.Kim feels disappointed, so he says a quick okay and walks out of the office.

   If the case really was a dead end, then maybe it wasn't worth going through all the trouble to try to find Yoongi again.

Mr.Lee wouldn't lie right?

Mr.Kim quickly shakes the thought away. The boss would never lie to him. He just doesn't look forward to telling Namjoon that he can't.

Namjoon's dad walks through the door to his house and sees his wife in the kitchen. "Hey honey how was work?" He asked giving her a quick kiss on the cheek. "It was fine, just the usual." She replied. "What did your boss say to reopening oongi's case?" she continued.

"He didn't let me, he said it's a dead end. I don't get how it's a dead end though, they only spent a year investigating before the case just seemed to be swept under the rug. I'm sure he wouldn't lie but I have a gut feeling that if I don't reopen the case we're gonna end up never finding Yoongi, or when it's already too late."

Mrs.Kim nods her head while listening to Mr.Kim. "I think you should follow your gut and just look into the case yourself. But you'll have to be careful." She says quietly. "Now go tell Namjoon what's going on."

He thinks about what he's going to do as he walks up the stairs to Namjoon's room. Of course he wants to try to find Yoongi. But this could make him lose his job and maybe even get arrested. He'd have to steal files of the case and who knows what else he'll have to end up doing. If he gets caught he will for sure lose his job.

He knocks on his sons door and his son yells "Come in!" Mr.Kim opens the door and sits at the end of the bed where his son was currently laying watching tv.

"Did your boss let you reopen the case?" Namjoon asked with an anxious look on his face. "No he said it'd just be a dead end." Mr.Kim replies. In that moment all hope fell from Namjoons face. "But I don't care im gonna look into it myself." He continues. Namjoon has a shocked expression.

"What do you mean by that?" Namjoon asks sitting up. "I mean that even though my boss isn't letting me, Im gonna secretly look into Yoongi's case myself. Yoongi was like a son to me, if I did nothing and he ended up dead I would never forgive myself." Mr.Kim can't really read Namjoon's expression. There's a mix of emotions there.

"But you could end up getting fired." Namjoon warns.

"I know, but if i'm picking between Yoongi's life or my job, it's a pretty easy choice."
