As a disclaimer, before you begin reading my (terrible D:) work, I'd just like to let you know you Jamie Lloyd is your foster sister and Laurie Strode is still presumed dead. This is to avoid confusion throughout the story on how you're connected, Thanks!

'Come on, Y/N!' Jamie groans, tugging on your sleeve. 'We're going to lose all the best candy!'
You smile. 'Alright, alright! I'm coming!'
She grips your hand tightly as she pulls you along the sidewalk, pumpkin basket hanging loosely from her hand. You approach a dully lit house, beautifully carved jack-o-lanterns decorating the porch and plastic skeletons dangling from the balcony. Knocking intently, Jamie gives you a toothy grin. The door creaks open and reveals an old woman clutching a basket of candy.
'Trick or Treat!' Jamie beams, holding out her pumpkin.
'Well, what do we have here? A clown and a..'
'Big sister,' you smile, looking down at Jamie.
'You're both adorable,' she coos as she gently places mini snickers and mars bars into the basket. 'Have a Happy Halloween!'
'You too!' You call out.
Skipping off the lawn, you start to make your way to the next house.
'Y/N..'
You turn around. 'Yes, Jamie?'
'Why did you- I'm not- We're not sisters,' she stammers, wiping a tear pricking at her eye.
'Jamie!' You frown as you crouch down to caress her cheek. 'I love you all the same as a sister would.. You know that..'
'But we're not!' She shouts, shaking her head. 'The only one who would is the Boogie Man!'
'I-I.. Jamie, you know you shouldn't talk about him! Especially now!'
She looks up at you, tears streaming down her face and I realise. You look around. People all across the street had stood to watch you scold Jamie, disappointment and empathy washing over their faces. You cup your face. 'Jamie, I'm sorry. I didn't know I'm so-'
Jamie tugs on your sleeve urging you to turn around. Pointing at a bold figure, her eyes widen. A masked man with a tall frame stood lifelessly tens of metres infront of you, a butcher knife sitting snugly at his side. You grip Jamie's hand, tugging her away.
'Let's go,' you spit through grit teeth.
You pace across the street, dragging Jamie closely behind you.
You fumble with the lock, swiftly opening and slamming the door shut. Sweeping Jamie off her feet, you trudge upstairs, your arms trembling under the weight. You drop her onto bed, a sigh escaping your throat.
'I'm sorry, Jamie.'
'It's o-okay,' she stutters, tears dribbling down her chin.
'It's not 9 o'clock yet,' you give her a forced smile. 'We could watch a movie.'
'I don't- I think I just want to stay up here..'
'That's okay, Jam. Do you need anything?'
'No..'
'...'
'...'
'About him, you know that wasn't him, right? It was just some stupid person playing pretend..'
'I know, Y/N. I wish it was, though,' she frowns, a dull red painting her cheeks. 'Maybe then I could have a family, a real family. Maybe he could even love me like a real sister!'
'He's not your brother, Jamie. And he's a fucking murderer..'
'I don't care if he's not my brother, Y/N. I just want a real family..'
'Maybe I'm not really your sister, maybe I'm not even family, but do you think that anyone could love you more than I do?'
'...'
'I love you so much, Jamie. And I won't ever let anything bad happen to you, okay?'
'Promise?'
'Promise,' you grin, ruffling her hazelnut locks. 'Just let me know if you need anything.'
You gently close her door as you smile to yourself, striding to your room.
'♪♩And now I'm looking for a time machine, or anyone who could justify why I've been gone♩♪,' you hum, tying your hair into a messy bun.
'♪♩Anyone to lie to me, they could say that they understand the things I've done ♩♪.'
You glide over to the radio, flicking it on. '-Infamous killer, Michael Myers, believed to be headed for Haddonfield. Police departments from across the state are set to patrol the area. We advise you to keep children and family inside and behind locked doors. We, Channel 7 wish you all a safe Halloween and will keep the public updated.'
The radio cuts out abruptly, emitting a harsh static like noise. You shake your head. 'J-Jamie, we're gonna go on a little trip,' you call out stammering as you throw together a small pile of clothes. 'Jamie?'
Peeking outside your room, your eyes widen. Her pink door sat widely open, and so did the front door. You creep out, cautiously stepping towards her room, trying to keep your breathing even. You stop, glancing down and frowning. 'What is that?'
Red spots, almost like an off paint, were splattered across the carpet. That distinct smell of copper filled your nose, causing you to gag. 'Jamie!'
You stagger across the floor as you approach her room. Tiny whimpers escape your throat. You glare at the sight fearfully; He stood lifelessly over her, a large hand resting calmly on her shoulder. He looks up at you, cocking his head then turning to the large knife sitting snugly in his hand.
'What the fuck did you do to her?!' You scream, tears pricking at the corners of your eyes as you rush to her bedside.
'Y/N?' She beams at you, eyes fluttering open
'J-Jamie?'
You look back to the figure, staring quietly in front of you, knife raised firmly to his shoulder. He throws his arm down, blade piercing your arm as blood pools down your shirt. You yelp, falling to the floor and clutching your chest. The pain was unbearable.
'No! Uncle Michael!'
He looks back at Jamie, hesitantly lowering his knife. He caresses her pink, now blood covered cheek. 'Please don't hurt her..' She chokes out, wrapping her small arms around his large frame.
Dizziness blurs your vision as you try to get up, collapsing back onto the floor. Darkness faded into your eyesight. Everything turned black.
