Esper was in the middle of a short relaxing stroll through a forest, trying to erase the traumatic memories the previous erruption of the Azamithian volcano had left engraved deep in his brain. Thankfully, the surrounding plantlife made it all too easy for the man to lose himself in the many vistas this tropical island had to offer, the foliage complimented it all with an almost rythmical noise, occasionally disturbed by birds chirping. He walked down an inconspicuous looking path and finally arrived outside of the tropical forest. What nature had placed before him could not be described with mere words. A vast, azure blue skyline stretched itself as far and wide as his vision could possibly percieve, complimented by small puffs of light, spread across like dandelions in the grass. The noises the sea made, as it danced with the many scuplture-like rock formations could make any dull sailor shed a tear. For a moment, all was calm.
Esper aimed his gaze slightly higher and noticed that he had found himself standing right in front of his greatest fear. The volcano. It had only been two weeks since it last errupted. He turned his back towards it when suddenly, it made an earth-shattering noise. He began running towards his home, but it was too late. The volcano had already begun to errupt, spewing string after string of thick magma, that laid itself across the once lush forests, transforming hundreds of beautiful organisms into mere dust in a matter of seconds. What survived it's initial burst of rage was surely destroyed. Our wanderer ran through the burning forests, the ruins of what he once called a home. He only had one destination in mind. Ocean Palace.
In the meantime Daddy Yankee and Louis Fonsi were relaxing inside that very same volcano, this had been their base of operations for some time, as the large amount of heat and frequent erruptions proved to be a very good source of energy. They hid inside it to finish what humanity would soon regard as the best song of all time... Despacito 2. Though they were ashamed to admit it, Despacito 2 had been delayed for quite a while now. It was simply too expansive. They had been forging the song in FL studio for centuries, with the first Despacito being simply a demo for the final product, one that was approximately 0.12535% of the quality of it's sequel. But now, the time has come. One last fated click of the export button had unleashed Despacito 2 on the world, but it wasn't uploaded to the internet, it wasn't engraved onto a vynl either. The only way to do Despacito 2 justice was to play it live, atop the world's most grand and dangerous destination, the Azamithian volcano. All that was left to do was upload the MIDI to the Yankee-Fonsi bot via USB, so that he may play the instruments with machine-like precision. Unfortunately they were restricted to using USB 2.0, so the upload would take at least two weeks, but their work was essentially done.
What they did not realize were the consequences that Despacito 2 could have. With the greatest song of all time published, the music industry would have no reason to exist. All the radios would ever play, all that people would ever stream... Would become Despacito 2. This would lead the world economy to collapse and eventually spiral mankind into extinction, by their own means or otherwise.
This coming exctinction was only ever taken into consideration by one mighty force, the Ocean Palace empire. Taking refuge in a gigantic spiraling underwater fortress, this luxurious yet cozy community housed over ten thousand musicians and artists, but was always willing to offer anyone in need a home.
Two legionaries stood in front of the massive wooden doors that were the only entry point to the massive undersea spiral, his entire body still trembling, Esper ran past them and through the open doors. He looked around for a second, confused, then ran up the twelve sets of stairs, seperating him from the great Merm, a masked mermaid that commanded the Ocean Palace United Military Forces (OPUMF for short).
