They said go for whoever and man Miyoshi is my boy, but it was a little hard writing about him bc he's a hard character to predict. There are many ways that people say soulmates come to form. Whether it be that two people met in previous lives who loved each other so much that they had vowed to be together in the next, or two souls meeting in heaven, promising to find each other on the Earth realm. You did find those to be romantic in the sense that anything to do with soulmates was beautiful to you, but you far greatly enjoyed Aristophanes version about soulmates.
The idea that humans had basically had their physical anatomy doubled, creating creatures with two pairs of arms, and legs, and a whole other face making even gods fear them as much as to cut their body in half, made you interested.
You halted your painting, something that you hardly did whenever you were lost in the moment, and took a look at your work.
It felt incomplete, but you couldn't finish it. As much as you wanted to, you really couldn't.
It was of a man you had continued seeing in your dreams since you were a child, and as much as you tried remembering his face, it would easily slip your mind. It was strange because you felt like you had seen it all your life. You knew you had seen his face when he, himself, was a child as well, but it would vanish into a puff of smoke when you would awaken.
You gnawed at the inside of your cheek contemplating what you could do with the incomplete work. You could always store it away, hopefully to finish it at a later date, if ever, or just work on it until it felt right.
You couldn't leave the man faceless. You had thought about it, but it didn't feel like it was the right thing for you to do. You had a gut feeling he was your soulmate, and you were determined to remember his face after waking up and made a mental note to work on it, though a case like that was never heard of before.
With a huff, you cleaned your work area that took place in your room this time. You set the canvas aside, deciding to deal with it later on, because as of now, you wanted to be far away from it.
You would go for a stroll at a park, but you knew that would only allow you to think more about what you were frustrated with at the moment.
So you decided to run some errands, like buying a few extra painting supplies. Your favorite shop that supplied, in your opinion, the best materials was many ways from where you lived, meaning you would have to take a train to get there.
You decided that it wouldn't matter, since you would be distracted enough to not wallow in self pity.
That proved to be more difficult as you boarded the train, not being able to focus on the newspaper you had clutched in your grip.
All you could think about was how many of your childhood friends had already found their own soulmates when reading a bit from the paper that briefly touched on the topic. They had all said how complete you would feel. If only you could remember his face, you would be able to finish the painting, and you would feel satisfied with just that.
You two had never spoken in your dreams, for instance, when you were children you would only play games that required no words, and as you two grew it shifted to just walking endlessly and aimlessly together.
