It's the first of May, and my mothers Cherry Blossom tree has finally bloomed. The white petals glisten in the sun as they fall to the bright green, freshly cut grass. "Mom!" I yelled, hoping she hears me in the kitchen. "What!" she hollered back, marching outside. "I'm trying to make breakfast, the sausages are going to burn if I don't watch over them!" I don't say a word, I just point to the beautiful tree. Mom walked over to me and we stared at the tree for what seemed like eternity. It probably seems odd to you, that my mother and I fascinate over a dumb tree. But it's not just a simple, dumb tree to us, it's a symbol of my brother, Michael. Michael passed away from cancer when he was eight years old. If he was alive today, he'd be 15. When he was younger, he absolutely loved climbing this tree. He would sit on the same branch for hours; or until mom called him in for dinner. Mikey admired the falling white petals even more than mom and I. He would stand under the Cherry Blossom tree and shake a branch, making the petals fall onto his beautiful brown locks of hair. Oh, I miss my brother. Just like any other little brother, he could be a pest, but in a way, I admired that.
