Sixteen| Compliments"The teachers are getting curious, Ethan." I said worriedly, sitting down my book bag "Did you let Grayson out of the—"
"Yes babygirl, I did. But you know Grayson, he always misses his classes" he laughed hysterically, causing me to join in with him.
He wrapped an arm around my shoulder and pulled me close.
"Let's watch a movie or something" he mumbled "I have some Doritos and ice cream in the food pantry. We can maybe eat that while we watch the movie" he smiled
"I-I have to...do homework"
"It's the end of the school year, and you know, NO teachers assigned homework" he crossed his arms "What's really going on?"
"I-I just don't—"
"You don't wanna hang with me?" He frowned
"No it's not that it's just—"
"Your not eating." He clenched his jaw "Stop playing around with me. Eat something!"
"Ethan we already had this talk." I scoffed
"We obviously need to have it again!" He yelled "I know you think your fat, Violet. But you're not!" He said, pulling me up the staircase to the bathroom. "Look in the mirror and tell me what you see. Don't do any cover ups, tell me what's on you're mind."
"When I look in the mirror...I see a fat girl who craves to be skinny as the the other girls at our school, I don't see a figure that I want to have, I see stretch marks and unwanted fat all over me."
"Baby girl, you wanna know what I see?" He asked "I see a thick, beautiful, strong, independent, sassy but sweet, shy but outspoken, courageous, brave, creative women." He kissed my forehead
"No you don't. You can't be pretty when you weigh over 170" I cried. "When people compliment me, I don't feel good like your supposed to feel. I feel even worse because I feel like they see my pain and they try to cheer me up."
"Hey, hey. Have I ever lied to you before?"
"No" I wiped my tears
"Then why would I say you looked bad when you look good? Why would I tell you to do something that isn't good for you?"
"I don't know, why would you?"
"I wouldn't" he chuckled "But there are other ways to lose weight. But not eating isn't an option."
"You'll help me?"
"I can't lose the weight for you, but I can help you."
"Okay. Where do I begin?"
