Back at their hideout, Jason locked himself in one of the rooms that still had a door. He had to rethink everything. Something was seriously wrong here, something just didn't make sense. It was obvious that someone had betrayed them, but he wasn't very positive as to who it was.

Doctor Richards could have found a way to warn the bad guys, maybe Liam was working with them or... Brian was only pretending to be on their side but was actually still working with the bad guys?

No. Jason didn't want to accept that, but for the sake of Jacie and possibly the world, he couldn't let personal things get in the way.

Well, James and Liam are identical twins. James could have possibly gotten information out of Liam then pretended to be him!

Jason picked up his pistol and looked out the window at the sunrise. He would do whatever it took to save Jacie.

~oOo~

Jacie's eyes fluttered open, but it took her a moment to process where she was. It was a dark room with a dim light above her on the ceiling. Boy, these guys really liked dark rooms. She glanced down and found herself strapped to a metal chair that was hooked to the ground.

She struggled to get free, beginning to panic. What had happened to Jason, Brian and Jonathan? Were they okay?

The straps began to make her skin burn from struggling so much, but she only stopped when the pain was unbearable. Just as tears stung her eyes, the door behind her creaked open. She closed her eyes, not daring to see who it was, but the voice of the person gave it away.

"Can't even look your old man in the eye?" He asked in a mocking tone.

Jacie hated how he said it. For Jason and her mom, she forced herself to open her eyes and glared up at him. "What do you want?"

James smiled his handsome smile, but right now, she didn't want to see it. It cut her to the core to know her own dad was the one who started this mess.

"I just thought I should mention that there is no way you will win this."

Jacie scoffed. "And?"

"You should join me."

She rolled her eyes, but lost her bravery when James placed his hands on the arms of the chair and put his face just inches away from hers. "This isn't a joke, Jacie. This is real. If you join me, we could save the world together."

Jacie remembered Nicky and Jason's argument back at Jonathan's house

Jacie remembered Nicky and Jason's argument back at Jonathan's house. Jason had said that these assassins couldn't just help our country, but they could destroy it as well. By the looks of it, Jacie could see that this would destroy their country and maybe even the world as they know it. "I would rather die," she glared, her voice cracking with fear.

James smirked and stood straight again. "Too bad, we need you alive in order to make this work out."

He paced back in forth in front of her. "Did you know that Liam and your mother helped me make what you are? I didn't start this alone, they were a part of it."

"But they didn't want to use it this way," she replied, trying to defend them. "I swear, if you hurt them, I will hunt you down until the day I die!"

James chuckled, looking down at his watch. "You are very persistent. That's what I adore about you. Jacie, you would make a great addition to my team. We could make it a daddy, daughter sorta thing."

Jacie looked away in disgust. What had become of her father?

She thought back about how she thought he'd died in the truck, and how weird it was that Liam had known about her horses and what her doctor said about her leg. She also thought it was weird how Liam had been wearing the same clothes her father had worn when the truck blew.

She looked up at her dad. "How did you escape from the truck?"

"Oh, that wasn't me," James told her. "That guy you thought was your father? He's my brother, Liam. I pretended to get captured after Brian was taken. Liam and Nicky decided to wipe all your memories of your brother and have Liam take care of you while Nicky searched for us."

Jacie couldn't believe what she was hearing. They had brainwashed her? Wow. Make her a science experiment, then wipe her memories? What else did she not know? Could it be any worse?!

She looked at her dad's face, realizing all his "injuries" were gone. They must have been makeup or something. Well, at least that confirmed that Liam was good, because Liam had bruises on his face from the truck. James was completely fine.

After hearing that, all her questions about her uncle were answered, but she felt like there was a big piece of information missing here. What could it be?

James glanced down at his daughter after a moment. "Jacie, please, join me. I don't want to force you into this."

Jacie remained silent for a long time before finally looking him in the eyes. "Okay..."

He looked genuinely surprised to hear this. "What?"

"I'll join you, but only if you don't hurt mom, Liam or my friends."

He stroked his chin in deep thought. "Deal, but I won't hesitate to defend my work from them."

She nodded slowly and took a deep breath. "Where do we start?"

Well, this wasn't much longer than the last one, but I'm so glad I was able to get it done. I hope you guys enjoyed it! Please leave a like and comment if you want and thanks for reading!
