I lift up my chin as I waltz within the walls of my room. With a mannequin. I didn't care that I was single, I had Ava Sangster as a best friend. The best thing I could ever wish for. I knew her family like they were mine. Well, except for her brother. I had only talked to him once, and I didn't even bother making eye contact with him. I snap out of what looked like a staring contest with the mannequin as I hear my phone go off. It was Ava. I picked up my cell and held it up to my ear. My jaw dropped when the first words she said was, "We're going to LA!" "What? How? By airplane or car or...what the heck? How are we going to LA and why?" I asked, trying to hold back the fact that I had finals in three weeks in college. If we go anywhere, we better make it back before then. Thankfully, it was my last year. Then, I was off to Law-School in eight months. "Oh my freaking god Sofia..." She said, sounding slightly mad, but probably smiling. I knew her personality like the back of my hand. "It's our Friendeversary! I wanted to do something special. You might as well start packing, because we are already in a cab, on our way to your house!" She said, sounding too cheerfully. As if she were hiding something. "What are you hiding?" I asked, suspicion creeping in my voice. "Wait, WE?! Who else is coming?" I ask, crossings my fingers, hoping it isn't who I think it is. "We aren't going alone. Thomas is coming too! He wants to get to know you! Bye bye!" She said, hanging up. My jaw practically on the ground. "Thomas is coming?!" I screamed. I jumped onto my bed and held on to a pillow. I looked around my room and looked at all of the posters. 99% of the posters were Thomas. Whenever Ava came over, I had to take them down. I watched every single movie he is in at least 7 times. I absorbed in every particle of oxygen I could, because I felt like I was going to have a panic attack. I felt extremely dizzy and thought I was going to faint. I started to get nausea at the fact that I was probably going to sit next to Thomas, because Ava is probably driving, and she likes to put her things in the passenger seat. So I am going to die. I can't believe she came all the way from London to New York just to do something special with me. Shoot! I gotta pack! I thought. I grabbed 3 pairs of sneakers, 1 pair of flats, and 1 pair of boots. I grabbed 7 T-Shirts, 2 Sweaters, 6 pairs of jeans, a skirt, and all of my hair products. I grabbed a necklace and put it in a small jewelry box. I carefully laid everything neatly in a bright aqua suitcase with stickers on it. As I put on some comfy clothes and packed some extra things like socks and undergarments in the suitcase, I noticed that they would probably come in my room. A split second after I noticed, I heard the doorbell ring. I ran across the room to take down the posters and shove them in my closet. I haven't seen Ava for a couple of months, so I really missed her. As I shoved the last poster under my bed, my bedroom door opened. I saw Ava and Thomas standing there. Ava had on a red long sleeved shirt and jeans. Her red hair blended in with her red shirt. Thomas had on a leather jacket, his hair the messiest I've ever seen it. His sneakers untied. And boy, he looks cute when he's tired. I didn't realized my suitcase was still unzipped, so I picked it up anyway. I hugged Ava and squealed. And Thomas just awkwardly stood there, staring. As I released from Ava's grip, I locked my blue eyes on Thomas' dark brown eyes. I simply held out my hand and said very casually, "Hi, my Sofia is name." I freaked out once I realized what I said. It was pretty obvious that I was freaking out at the fact that The Thomas Brodie Sangster was standing in my room, shaking my hand. "I'm sorry, I meant, My name is Sofia. It's nice to finally meet you." I say, this time not as nervous as the first time. "It's great to finally meet you too. Ava talked about you nonstop during the airplane ride." He said, his voice cracking at the final word. But it was hardly noticeable, because of his British accent. "Ok, let's go! If we leave at a reasonable time today, we will probably get there in three-four days. We can each take turns driving every six-five hours. First, I want to drive. I will put my things in the passenger seat, so you and Thomas will go in the back." She said, but the minute she said the words you and Thomas, she winked at Thomas. Thomas turned bright red, and gave Ava a look that practically screamed, What have you done?! I picked up my suitcase and headed out my room. But Thomas made me stop. The box with the necklace fell and opened. The necklace was a heart that opens, the kind that you could put two photos in. It had thin glass to protect the the small photos from falling out. It had two photos inside. One of me, and one of my ex. The photo of my ex, Alexander, was torn up, but still inside of the heart. The heart was opened, so it was clear to make out the faces inside. "That's my, uh, ex." I said, looking down at the torn up photo. "I got that necklace when I was 16. The year I met Alexander. We were together for four years. He was super self absorbed. He broke up with me to focus on his 'music career.' But if he calls playing a guitar horribly on the street a 'career ', then I don't know what is wrong with him. But turns out, he just broke up with me because he was cheating on me and she was already pregnant." I said, staring down at my shoes. "I guess it's like what happened with you and Isabella Melling. Except she didn't cheat on you." I said, looking up at Thomas. But Thomas had a hurt expression on his face. Now he was staring down at his shoes. "Oh, I'm so sorry. I didn't know what got into me to make me say that." I said, my hand on his shoulder, trying to comfort him. "It's fine. I'm sorry about Alexander." He said looking up at me, his eyes locked on mine. He did the most unexpected thing. He picked up the necklace and closed it. He put it around my neck and put it on me very gently. "Let's just say, I'm trying to find someone new to put in my necklace." I said. slightly smiling at him. "Ahem." I heard from behind me. It was Ava. "Might as well get some biscuits, sit down, and watch the show." She said, smiling from ear to ear. "Right, sorry." I Said, still in shock of what Thomas did. I started started walking down the stairs. I looked back at Thomas and smiled. "I'll help you with your suitcase." He said, holding out his hand to get the suitcase. "Thanks Thomas. You're sweeter in person." I said, flashing a quick wink and handing him the suitcase. We both walked down the stairs as three words rung in my head.
I'm in love.
