Daisy's nimble fingers held the two needles in her hands, a ball of yarn stationed in her lap. Over the last few weeks, she had watched Billy's favorite scarf fray apart from years of hard work.

So, with no one else to talk to, Daisy decided to make her favorite uncle a new one, something she could do that no one else could.

Most of the boys were on patrol and the ones who weren't, like Jacob, were sleeping peacefully in their beds. Emily, on the other hand, was grocery shopping.

That left Daisy with more free time then she could've imagined, and laying around the house wasn't one of her favorite things to do. Knowing that someone, something, was out there, hunting them.

A loud knock at the door tore Daisy's attention away from her knitting, but also sent a shiver of fear down her spine.

Standing slowly, she made her way towards the door, picking up the biggest kitchen knife she could on the way. Daisy knew this was stupid, no knife could kill a vampire, but she hoped otherwise.

With a quick breath, Daisy yanked the door open, spying Bella on the other side, first raised to knock again.

"Daisy," Bella said, her voice tight with anger. "Is Jacob home?"

Daisy nodded, picking up the whiteboard clipped beside the door. Over the last few weeks, the Blacks had set up some in each room so it would be easier for them to talk to each other.

He's sleeping, Daisy wrote, not stepping aside to let the Forks norm girl in. He needs his rest.

"He hasn't returned my calls," Bella says, peering around Daisy. "I need to see him."

With a sigh and a shake of her head, Daisy replied. I'm sorry Bella but now isn't a good time. Come back later.

"I'm sorry, I can't," Bella said, pushing past Daisy before running back towards Jacob's room.

Daisy's usually calm mood quickly turned dark, slamming the white board and kitchen knife down on the table before rushing after Bella. The disrespect that Bella has shown infuriated Daisy like none other — her cousin needing his sleep after the countless hours on patrol.

As she neared his bedroom door, Bella burst back through. Daisy tried grabbing her arm to stop her but Bella shook her off, abruptly exiting the house.

Daisy stood in the living room confused, but her confusion was soon debunked when she saw Bella rushing towards a group of shirtless men at the edge of the forest.

She mentally cursed when she saw Bella pointing in Sam's face, spitting words at him and the rest of the boys.

If Daisy wasn't angry before, she definitely was now. Her feet carried her out the door and towards the group before she could think otherwise.

"What? Are you sad that little Jacob came up to his sense and left you behind? Just like your precious bloodsuckers did?" Paul seethes, anger visibly shaking his body after he witnessed Bella's attacks on sam.

Daisy's mouth dropped open as Bella's fist flew across Paul's cheek, the clap deafening as if it were thunder.

The mute's hands shook with anger as she wrenched Bella away from her imprint, whose clothes ripped as he shifted from human to whole.

"Get back!" Sam yelled at the girls, placing himself in front of Paul, who stared down at Bella.

The pale brunette's eyes widened as Jacob yelled her name, jumping over the fence of the porch. Daisy stayed rooted in place, anger still rolling off her shoulders.

"Run! Jake, run!" Bella yelled, running towards the house as Jacob ran away from it, his body shaking like Paul's had before he shifted.

Bella fell to the ground as Jacob launched over her, clothes falling to the ground in shreds as he shifted. He lands next to Daisy, his one claw catching her shoulder as her brother tackles her to the ground.

A menacing growl leaves Paul's snapping teeth as he pounces in Jacob, the pair snapping at each other as they roll into the forest, breaking a canoe on the way.

Issac's hands squeeze Daisy's shoulder, blood slowly flowing from the cut. Sam kneels next to the siblings, his hand on Issac's back.

"Take the girls back to Emily's place," he commands. "She'll did Daisy up."

Issac quickly stands, sweeping his sister — who continuously tries to swat her brother's hands away — into his arms and running towards the car.

"Guess the wolf's out of the bag," Jared says before he and Embry help Bella up, following the others to the cars.
