My mother is not average. She had me when she was just 21. She looks 28 and is actually 38 years old. She didn't finish college until she I was 15 and amazingly enough she got a job as a teacher of a fifth grade class right away. I think she's actually pretty awesome. She's been a single mother since I was six years old. My dad died in Iraq. I don't remember much about him but I do know that with himbeing gone, Mom has gotten really strong.

Lifes good though. I'm a junior in high school and Mom's had a job since she graduated. Right now we live in Andover, New Jersey, population, 634. Saying I'm from New Jersey automatically brings up the question,"Why don't you have an accent?"

Places I Have Lived:

1.) Boville, Idaho 2.)Shonto,Arizona 3.)Dunton, Montana 4.)Norwood, Louisiana 5.)St. Marks, Florida 6.)Ludlow, Maine, ect, ect, ect.

You could sorta say we're travelers. We don't stay in one place very long. That's why I don't have an accent. My birthplace was a little town in Iowa whose name I don't even know. Soneedless to say, my accent depends on what I am saying.

We've been in New Jersey for six months. I got a job a week after we moved here at a resturaunt as a waitress. I know that type of job isn't usually what smater kids go for but, I am a big people person. I love talking to people. So this interactive job is right up my alley.

Now when the topic of friends comes up in conversation usually I easilu explain that my mom is my best friend. Moving around as much as we do makes it hard to make good friends. This time is different though. Callie is my absolute best friend. She was at work with me from day one showing me the ropes and helping me through the day. Ever since then we just gotten closer and closer.

That's how I ended up sitting at our usual lunch table talking about what dress Callie was going to get for the winter formal that was coming up in two weeks.

"So I was thinking I should get a color that compliments my eyes. But at the same time I really want purple and purple totally doesn't go with green eyes. You know.."

Eventually she tined out and ended up as a background noise to the stress party i was having in my head. Just this morning my mom gave me some news that was quite hard to swallow.

"Jules, are you alright?" Calie said looking at me a little funny.

"I've got some bad news Cal, my mom told me this morning that we're moving." I paused letter her take it in before I continued. "To England.." I said in a small voice waiting for th-

"What!?" Callie screamed getting the attention of everyone else in the canteen.

"I can take that your moving, but the England?"

I could tell that she was about to cry so I got up from my side of the table and walked around the hers, sitting down and hugging her.

"Don't cry C," I said trying to comfort her, "I promise we"ll keep in touch. Mom said that her new job as a primary teacher in London should pay enough for us to be well off. We could pay for you to come and visit. How does that sound?"

Callie looked up at me and wiped her tears.

"Jules we have to set some rules okay?" she said sternly. "I need you to promise a call at least oncfe a week and maybe even some letters? With gifts attached? I don't know what I'm going to do without you Julie.."

I promised her everything she asked me too and we walked our separate ways to class. Later though, after the dismissal bell had rung, Callie ran up to me asking for a ride home. Along the way she ended up asking my mom if she could come over and spend the night.

Once we got home I grabbed my bag from the back of my 2000 Black Ford Taurus. I smiled sadly thinking that I would have to leave it here. I've had this car since I was 15 so it really is my baby.

We walked up to my front door and as I opened it we were hit with the amazing sent of garlic bread and spagehtti sauce . Callie ran through the door to the kitchen and hugged my mother.

"I totally love your mother!" she hollered at me as I walked up the stairs to my room.

My bedroom is painted a light purple and my bed has a purple bedspread and purple pillows. You could say I really like purple. I threw my bag on my desk chair as I plopped onto my bed and logged on to my laptop.

Later I heard Callie coming up the stairs so I logged off of Facebook knowing that she would automatically take the computer from me. I was suprised to see her walk in with two plates of spagehtti and two pieces of garlic bread. Usually we are't aloud to have food upstairs unless it's popcorn on movie night.

"Your mom said we could eat up here and talk about the move. She asked me to give this to you first though."

She handed me an envelope that had my name on it. I opened it and read the letter and nearly had a heart attack. Callie slapped my leg several times trying to get me to read it out loud. I was too excited so I just handed it to her and let her read it outloud, while I tried to calm myself.

Dear Jules,

I know that this move is going to be one of the hardest for you so I wanted to get you something. After you get done reading this you can come down and get a $1,500 credit card from me. I want you to get rid of all the clothes you don't want any more and use this card to get a whole new London wardrobe. I really hope you're not to mad about the move.

I love you, Mom
