We walked to the dungeon cells silently, spent from the fight... at least I am, Phantom said that the soul of the Giant king in the cane will fuel her for months. Breathing heavily and sweating, I could barely walk and Phantom noticed.
Phantom held out her cane to me, "Feel."
I woke from my trance and looked at her, "What?"
"Hold it."
"What? No! I'm not touching the death stick!"
Phantom creased her eyebrows and pushed the cane into my hands. Instantly, energy surged through my entire system. The sudden feeling made me panic and I threw the cane back to Phantom who caught it swiftly.
"Wow, if you want to give it back, don't throw it!" Phantom said.
I flexed my fingers, "Nah, I just don't like that it happened suddenly."
Phantom smirked, "Guess I should've warned you about it, yeah? So how are you feeling?"
"Energised."
"Great! Let's go get the dragons."
We went to the last balcony before the dungeons. Phantom called out a in a special whistle, almost instantly, Serpentinus and Nithos landed on the stone balcony that, surprisingly, was able to support the weight of the two reptilians.
Phantom faced the dragons, "Now, you two, go for the walls."
I raised a brow, "The walls? Did I miss anything?"
Nithos shook his muscular neck, scales rattling and glittering in the sunlight, Ha! Creator, you missed an entire conversation.
"How?" I threw my hands up in annoyance, "How can I miss an entire after-plan? I was there!"
Serpentinus tapped her armoured head with a hooked claw, Dragon telepathy, Phantom has it more than you do.
I rolled my eyes, "Well of course she has."
Phantom chuckled, "Nithos, you owe me a bag of silver scales now, you lost the bet!"
Aww... come on! Nithos groaned.
"Did I miss that as well?"
"Yep."
"Whyyy???" I screamed at the sky, alarming the dragons, I calmed down and said tiredly, "Go on, do whatever you guys planned."
Phantom held the cane to me again. I ran off to another corner of the balcony and yelled, "No!"
She kept the cane back.
"You really don't like how it feels, huh?"
"No shiz Sherlock!"
The dragons took off. Serpentinus cracked the thick walls with her tail, Nithos made a fireball and blasted the cracks. It proved to be the weakness of the walls as they gave way and collapsed.
The dragons and prisoners who were bound squinted at the sudden brightness, all of them amazed and surprised at their release... and their saviours.
Phantom changed her cane into something I have never seen before, a sword. Silver blades long as my middle finger to my shoulder, black mist swirling within. The cruciform hilt's design was the dragon-head-tip of the cane. But with another ruby at the blade grip.
She caught sight of me gawking and flashed the sword in the light. She grinned, "Want to hold it?"
I must say, I am intrigued as I had never seen a real longsword, never mind a fancy longsword, I nodded. Phantom held it to me, once I gripped it, a horrible realisation cane to my mind.
