I suddenly wake up, taking in a huge gasp of air as if I was suffocating in my sleep. My eyes pan around the room as if looking for the cause of my sudden awakening. But all I could see was an almost eerie darkness.
I gently pull the covers off of me and set them to the side as I move out of bed. My bare feet hitting the cold wooden floors beneath them. I look down at my long white gown as my brown colored hair fell over my shoulders like a silky brown waterfall. I slowly stand up and snuck over to the window so I could open the curtains and let in some light.
As I carefully crept across the room i stepped in something. It was wet and kind of warm, it was a strange sensation. I looked down quickly but it was too dark to even see my feet. "Damn it my dog must've peed or something." I thought to myself. But deep in my mind I knew it wasn't pee, cause she couldnt smell that distinct urine smell.
I started to panick slightly and picked up my pace to the window before beginning to run. As soon as I got to the Window I grasp the curtains than threw them open, letting in a gentle ray of moonlight. My chest violently moved up and down to match my heavy breathing. I must've held my breath when I was running.
I take a deep breath to calm myself before remembering about the disgusting mess my dog must've made. I walk over and get some cloths ready to clean up smelly urine. As I turn towards the mess I suddenly drop the towels as the daunting reality set in. Warm tears started to stream down my cheeks, dripping off my jawline.
A rather large figure laid there, a long slice along its stomach with its guts and entrails pulled out of his body and laying next to him. Its eyes rolled back and its mouth dangling open. Its long beautiful fur was now mats of dried blood and urine. The tail that used to wag everytime it saw her was now chopped off and there was a knife still stabbed through the back of its neck.
I slump to the ground and begin bawling as I notice the dead creature as my beloved dog, the dog I begged my parents to get me for years. Next to the dog laid a portrait of the gory scene laid before her. The only thing was the painting wasnt normal. It was made of oozing red blood and it was drying to the canvas. I struggle to run to the door, stumbling a few times. It swings open and makes a slam noise as it hits the wall.
I began to scream for my parents, calling out to them for help. When I heard a pair of feet pattering up the stairs I could only assume it was Dad. I heard the footsteps, quickly moving up the stairs as that was the only sound going throughout the entire house other than the distant echos of my screams.
I spin around and walk around the room, lighting a few candles. So it wasnt so dark. As I held the candle stick in the palms of my two hands I felt like someone was behind me, like their eyes was staring into my soul. I suddenly felt a cold breath on the back of my neck that sent shivers down my spine. I quickly spun around and pushed the figure away.
I heard a raspy grunt and a thump as the figure hit the ground. I knew it wasnt my dad cause his voice was cleaner and not raspy. It was my brother, I blink and look at him blankly. His black hair fell in his face as usual, but his emerald green eyes peaked through his veil of hair anyways. My gaze goes from his face to his hands. His entire forearm was caked in blood, some of it was dried up, Some was fresh. In his hands was a knife that seemed to have dulled a bit from all the killing hes done with it that night.
I back up quickly and soon felt my back press against the wall. The wall was cold and smooth. I felt goosebumps cover my arms and legs.
My brother gives me an insane smile, "you were always so pretty~ you'll make a great portrait~" he said under his breath before lunging forward. He swung the knife at me and I quickly ducked and moved to the side to the side. I then swing the candke stick at him and it made contact with his face.
He stumbles backwards and falls, both of his hands on his face as he screamed. I immediately see the knife as my fire reflects off the metal. I quickly grab the knife and prepare for another attack. He takes his hands off of his face which pulls if some of the skin on his cheek with a slight lewd noise that made me clench my jaw in disgust. He jumps foward and pins me to the wall, holding me up by the neck.
I try to breath but his thumb pressed down on my wind pipe firmly. I then swing the knife and plung it into his shoulder blade. I continue to do this about five more times until I see his blood dripping to the ground. I could feel his grasp weakening by the second.
I struggle for air and swing my legs, kicking him in the stomach as hard as I could. He hits the ground and immediately throws up everywhere as if his whole stomach was emptying itself. He gasped for air in between waves of puke. He stands up weakly as blood dripped more and more by the second.
She swings her legs back and kicks his roughly in the stomach which causes him to stumble back and falls on her bed, he slowly fell unconscious. Within minutes he died from blood loss.
{Back to present times}
"You see thats the journal entree of what happened centuries ago. She was the only one to suvive that night, her brother made portraits of everyone he killed. Because of that we dont allow art in this family. Its a curse!" A woman with dark brown hair and crystal blue eyes says as she closes her ancestors journal. She stood up and set the journal in a container where it would be safe.[Author's Note: Their present time is still way back in the early 1900s, also yes all of that gore was a detailed journal entree of their ancestor. That she made so her story of that night wouldnt be forgotten if you like it please comment and tell me your favorite parts and what you like about it. It inspires me to make the next chapter.
