The pain. The pain was excruciating. As my bones transformed and rearranged themselves, my blood boiled, burning me from the inside out. Agonised screams escaped my mouth. Tears streamed down my face. I couldn't control anything. I fell to my knees and heard the seams of my clothes ripping. My vision was tinged with red. Anger. So much anger filled my body. The unexpected rage consumed me, making me want to rip into someone's throat. My screams changed drastically from bloodcurdling shrieks to monstrous snarls. Fur sprouted on my skin whilst every bone in my body snapped and shifted into place, as if I were a supernatural being. Unspoken words drifted in the air. Loud echoes of thoughts swirled around my mind, giving me the sense of dizziness and nausea. As the world span, I stumbled from my disorientation and felt like I was going to faint. I had no idea what was happening. My vision was blinded by spots of grey and black, before I finally succumbed to the darkness.

My head ached like I had just been whacked across the head with a sledge hammer. The pounding wouldn't stop. I couldn't remember what happened last night, or was it the day before that. I honestly had no clue what day or time it was. Drawing out a soft groan, I attempted to open my eyes. All I saw was a blur, until my vision focused, once I was able to open them. The shadows moved before me and out stepped a cloaked figure. A silent growl echoed throughout the room. That was when I realised I was in a strange room and I wasn't alone.

My heart thumped in my chest, begging to break free. My hands trembled when he stepped into the light. He looked as if he went through hell and came back again. The once blue shirt was spotted with stains of red and brown. His hair stuck up in every direction and he had a grim look plastered on his bruised and yet still enchanting face. Blue and black decorated his skin in delicate patterns, contrasting with his pale skin. I moved my body away from his to put some distance between us. Pain travelled through me, starting at my neck and stopping at my toes. The look on his face told me he didn't like this very much, and before I could ask what had happened, he pounced. Before I had any time to roll away, he landed on top of me, we were chest to chest and he made sure I came to no harm. He gently wrapped his arms around me. Nuzzling my neck, he started to explain what had happened that led up to me in this strange yet pleasant situation. Even with my suffering I found his explanation funny; that was until he started to take off his clothes. I squeezed my eyes shut to avoid seeing anything I didn't want to.

The sound of heavy panting made me open my eyes. I was shocked to see a wolf as black as night sitting there watching me with interest. I looked into the midnight blue eyes that stared back at me and I found myself reaching to stroke his fur . After a few minutes one of his eyes changed to grey, which made him even more beautiful if that was even possible. Ignoring my protesting limbs as I moved. He realised what I was doing and jumped onto the bed. Laying at my side with his head on my chest, whilst I ran my fingers through the silky fur on his back, I heard a deep, throaty purr come from him. I just couldn't believe that everything he said was true and that I had somehow escaped from my life of hidden suffering.
