We made up. We were finally happy, we were together, like a couple! I was actually enjoying my time on earth, my life, this precious thing that most people don't have the chance to live.
"I knew one day this would happen, and honestly wish it could have been sooner," he said.
"Jack- if you have wanted this why didn't you just tell me?"
"I never knew that you liked me? Well I mean- heh- like, liked liked me." he slowly stuttered as those words came out of his mouth.
" *cough* *cough* um so, what have you been doing these past few um years?" He said looking quite embarrassed.
"I've actually been drawing, you know new aspect in life." I smiled, I took his hand and dragged him out of the cemetery.
We walked to a nearby coffee shop. We sat down and ordered our drinks. I put my shaking hands on the table, it was cold, almost like cold glass on a snowy day. I felt Jack's hand on mine, it was warmer, wow he really was a perfect creature. The weather got colder, it was windy, and soon it began to drizzle. I stared out the window, avoiding eye contact right now. I knew my eyes started to water, I didn't want Jack to see me like this anymore. He didn't need to know that my mother's problems were still going on.
"What wrong?" he questioned.
"Nothing, these are happy tears..." ones that make me feel alive. I gave a quick smile to reassure him. Those problems were not his, but mine to take care of.
The waiter came back to our table with our drinks. I got a Hot Chocolate, Jack got a regular coffee. I chuckled a bit and smiled slightly. Jack looked at me and laughed.
"What now?" he said.
"It's just... it's been such a long time, I still remember when you used to hate coffee, you said that it tasted like burnt beans." I chuckled. "I guess I never imagined you like this, your so different-"
He raised and eyebrow, and looked confused.
"In a good way I mean." He then relaxed. The rest of the time we just sat there taking in the view from the cozy coffee shop. It was the best feeling, like when you wake up from a well rested nap after a long day, but as always all good things must come to an end. Jack interrupted the sweet silence with a question.
"So... can I see some of your drawings some time? I'd love to see what your 'style' is." He quoted.
"Um... yeah sure, but you have to promise not to judge." I gave him a cold stare, as if to say if you break this promise i will haunt you in your sleep. A little intense, but you have to take extra precautions in this situation. I thought to myself, was mom home yet? I remember her telling me that she was going out with someone. I didn't pay attention to the time, I dozed off around the part where she started telling me rules of what to do while she was gone."Um actually... you would like to come over to my house, I think my mom is out tonight, so it would be perfect." I winced in fear that that might've been to straight forward.
"Yeah, that would be great, it's been a long time I actually forgot how your house looks like... is your room still the same, purple everywhere?" He grinned.
I smiled and elbowed him on his side, I laughed.
"Geez, I forgot how strong you are Mia."
