Dear Universe...

The Happened

Dear Universe,

I wish I could make life go in reverse,
Taking back all the worst.
Take back all my wasted time,
All bad memories gone with a clock's chime.

All sorrows, all misfortunes, all anger, and resentment,
All of it forgotten and replaced with contentment.
Oh how that would make my life change,
But also make it appear so strange.
See without all these unfortunate events,
I would never be here with my achievements.

So no one should really want to change the past,
As the number of worse outcomes would be oh so vast.
Without my sorrows and pain,
My life would have been so insane.

Everything happens for a reason,
Right down to the late change in a season.
Once something has happened it can't reverse,
No matter how much you cuss and curse.
Just think carefully about where the seeds get sewn,
Because the tree can't be moved once it is grown.
