Louis barely got a wink of sleep last night due to his mind keeping him awake with thoughts of Harry. But he doesn't want to over think the situation right now. The important thing is that they get the antidote and bring it to the slumbering Prince in time."You ready to go, lads?" The blue eyed lad questions his mates who seem to be done preparing themselves for their mission. They all ate breakfast early so they could get a headstart in looking for the antidote.
"Yup. Niall?" Liam turns to the Irish boy.
"Ready as I'll ever be." Niall nods with a smile.
One by one, they exit their temporary cottage with determined faces, Liam locking the door with the key they were given before joining his friends to look at their surroundings.
People were busy as usual, bustling around and minding their own business. They didn't bother noticing or even giving a glance to the new comers who walk past them warily.
"These people don't seem to care about visitors." Niall whispers to both Liam and Louis, who nod in agreement.
"Hey, there's Alex! We can go ask him!" Louis points to the boy they met last night, helping a few men carry long chopped up wood.
Hurriedly weaving through a crowd of people, the three friends cautiously approach the lad, Liam awkwardly clearing his throat to get his attention.
Alex turns around to face the group, a nervous look overcoming his once calm features. Before the friends could utter a word, Alex excuses himself from what they supposed is his job and gestures for them to follow him.
Once out of sight and hearing range from all the other village people, he asks in a hushed tone, "what is it that you want?"
"We came to ask about an antidote. For a sleeping potion. You were the only one we knew who might help us." Louis tells the lad, searching his face for any sign of discomfort.
"Oh..." Is the first thing that comes out of his mouth, followed by, "I actually do know someone who knows how to make it. But you're going to need one of the ingredients which isn't available anymore.."
"What do you mean not available?"
"Well, one of the components is calcium chloride that's found in limestone. King Cowell had us destroy most of the limestones on our sea coast, the only ones remaining are within his castle's chambers. We had no idea to why he would keep them but didn't question him about it. We're not allowed to."
A groan escapes Louis' throat, "of course he would keep some to himself. He knows we're going to try and get it from him."
Alex stares at them in confusion, "what do you mean about that? How do you know thy Majesty?"
"'Thy Majesty' is blackmailing the kingdom of Donshire." The blue eyed lad scowls, "He ordered Princess Taylor of Beardannia to give Prince Harry a sleeping potion. If we don't have him take the antidote by the end of the week.. We might lose him." Louis whispers the last part sadly.
"Blackmail? So Prince Harry is the supposed future King of Mundesy?"
"Yes, but if he isn't given the antidote soon, he will be no kingdom's future King. And uh, how do you know that information?" Louis arches a brow. From what he knows, no one out of castle walls know of the situation between the two Kingdoms.
Alex bashfully scratches the back of his neck, "I just overheard it from someone." He clears his throat and says sincerely, "But I'm willing to help you guys if it means King Cowell's plan doesn't succeed. He's done enough damage to his kingdom."
