Unrequited Love and Heartbreak

I guess this a human AU, since that would make more sense.
I've been dealing with heartbreak recently and I needed to express these feelings that I've had, so I decided to use the most romantic one of the sides: Roman.

He couldn't take it anymore.

Roman had fallen for this one guy, knowing that the guy liked somebody else.

Although he had his suspicions if the guy had liked anyone at all, he could tell that he was into someone else.

Unfortunately, his suspicions were confirmed.

He had asked his friends who were closer to both Roman and the guy he liked, and unfortunately for Roman, he loved another person. Roman's friends weren't aware that Roman had thought said guy was cute and beautiful and smart and funny and that Roman was in love with him.

Roman went home that day and cried in his room.

Whenever he was at school, he pretended to be happy and fine. Whenever someone would approach him to talk to him, he would be pretend to be happy and fine. Whenever he would talk with his family, he would pretend to be happy and fine. And whenever he had to talk to the guy, especially during musical practices, he would pretend to be happy and fine.

To this day, he pretends to be happy and he acts fine.

He barely even knew this guy for some time, yet he fell in love with him as they talked more and more. He fell in love with him so easily.

It hurt to be around this guy. Roman started talking less to him, but he still talked to him day to day. They were friends after all, and Roman didn't want him to worry. He needed to stay strong.

Maybe because it was his first time liking someone who was the same gender. But Roman's suffering with a broken heart, already too damaged and broken to be fixed again.

And no one would ever know.

Sorry for this being short.
I've just really needed to express these feelings for a really long time and I'm trying to get over it.
Unfortunately, I can't stop listening to 'She' by Dodie (which is catchy and you should listen to) because the song reminds me of a certain 'she' I know in real life. And she's a friend. And the person who made me realize I wasn't straight while 'she' is straight. Like, really straight. And 'she' isn't really aware of any of this.
It's also been really hard on me to act happy and feel happy. It's been taking a lot out of me to be happy and pretend.
Sorry for the angst and the pretty much rant/vent and probably for ruining your day.
And yes, this actually happened to me in real life. Expect for names and it being a she not a he and I left some things out for personal reasons and.....yeah.
